Is anybody else dissapointed that they didnt create island in Kalimdor with old world art direction instead of this? It would have fit the Battle of Orgrimmar and the whole theme of patch 5.4 better.

Not really, because it looks to much like Pandaria, and even if Pandaria is not bad, i rather not want Pandaria stuff in the old world.
Let's just keep it with panda NPC's and nothing else ;p
No I didnt mean that. I mean that they should have done this in old world classic art direction and in Kalimdor.
And Kun Lai is winterspring + barrens.
And fyi, classic wow art direction is still being used. The graphics have just been upgraded from the original warcraft 3 engine.
As far as using the whole "Kalimdor" look, valid point. We are taking the battle to durotar. The island could look similar to moonglade. But then wouldn't you be complaining that moonglade art is being reused and you wanted it to look more like Pandaria or something "new"?
No, this is not mists of kalimdor
And it looks awesome, just like the whole of pandaria.
An island that looks like the Jade Forest off of the coast of the Jade Forest? no way.
seriously though, I never expected any different, finding an unexplored island off of the coast of an unexplored continent makes MUCH more sense then finding it just of the coast of a continent we've been on since Warcraft III. Not to mention it'd involve them updating the "Old WoW" style to be graphically suitable to this xpac (similar to some of what we've seen in SM/Scholo) which doesn't seem likely for 1 island that will be used for 1 patch.
Hm.. so you complain about "art direction" instead of "content"? How odd. If anything, the content of the Isle should matter more than your precious "Art Direction". Oh, and welcome to Mists of --"Pandaria"--, where the entirety of the expansion (mostly) takes place in Pandaria.
That, and why would something like this be in Kalimdor all of a sudden? Because islands just randomly pop out of no-where (I guess that might make sense for this one as well? xD)
Why would an island that isn't impacted by time, inhabited by the Pandaria Celestials, and until recently was sealed way in mists look like Kalimdor that has been ravaged by time and several cataclysms? It wouldn't fit the lore for it to look like present day Kalimdor.

You know a community is bad when moderators lock a thread because "...this isnt the place to talk about it either seeing as it will get trolled..."
Huh a Pandaria themed zone in Pandaria. Who would have thunk it? A bit boggled that you really expected something else. Why would they have created the island in Kalimdor. Ignoring the whole "part of the expansion", the celestial beings will be there (ox, crane, dragon, tiger) plus you also have that yaungol boss. It would have been completely out of place anywhere but Pandaria. It would have also been completely out of place to have it be themed off of anything but the local isle.
It would be equivalent to saying you want the Argent Tournament in Eastern Kingdom because "OMG SNOW STILL?!?".

The thing is, there's more than 1 storyline progressing, to my knowledge, the Timeless Isle is related to the Celestials (who are currently working with Wrathion to upgrade our cloaks, and who are making appearences as world bosses, presumably on the Isle), so it is definitely related to the content of the patch, even if 100% of it isn't focused on SoO (I personally had enough of patches focusing 100% on 1 story anyway, after 4.2/4.3 >.>)
But this whole Island still feels so out of place or smth. The war is coming to Kalimdor! The Celestials are boring.
It's right off the coast of Jade Forest, why is it a surprise that it would have Jade Forest like art?
I don't get it, what's wrong with this? It looks rather nice imo.
