worst.
shattrath 'attunement'. follow the fucking ghost for 8 minutes. seriously, what was the actual point of this. honestly.
best.
tie between gnome katamari quest in uldum, fallen hero of the horde in pre cata SoS, and the wrathgate/undercity chain.
Best - not really a single quest, but the long quest chain where you upgraded your original dungeon set. It was absurdly long, and you had to go basically everywhere for it. It felt good to finally complete that. I really like how it was a long/epic quest chain that felt rewarding to complete, but you could do it without entering a serious raid (aside from 10-man UBRS, which hardly counted as a "serious" raid).
Worst - Uh....I'd say that one in Borean Tundra where you have to go around picking items out of wolf shit. Or any quest that involves picking items from piles of shit, for that matter.

One Last Grasp in 5.1 is one of my favourites. Palling around with Rommath, rescuing Aethas Sunreaver, jumping out of Dalaran to land on dragonhawks, and witnessing Lor'themar Theron step up to the plate was awesome.
Don't really have a least favourite anymore. I just ignore areas that bore me, and the less memorable quests in the fun ones just bleed into others of their kind.
That said, killing Luzran and Knucklehead (?) in the Ghostlands was bullshit when I was a newbie. They were either dead from all the other leveling groups or impossible to find.
I like the one in Silverpine where you get to be the quest giver and give out hilarious quests to those stereotypical pseudo-players. I like that Blizzard poked a bit of fun at a portion of the playerbase. Had me actually laughing.
I hated those collection quests where you had to collect [some number] of [some item], but it had a random drop chance from mobs that shared spawns with other mobs that didn't drop said item...the one that comes to mind was collecting the dew glands I think from those cactus-y guys in southern Tanaris. Those quests could take an infuriatingly long time. Especially if you were questing with a mate, back before quest items were lootable by multiple people in the party. I also remember a few quests to kill [some number] of monsters, but those monsters shared spawns with other things, and if someone had been through earlier selectively killing the quest mobs, there might have only been one or two around, forcing you to kill non-quest mobs in the hope that the respawn would be one you wanted.
I used to love Green Hills of Strangelthorn though, not because it was a fun quest, but because you could rock up there at the minimum level requirement with all the pages pre-bought off the AH, hand them all in, and get a huge amount of XP for little to no work.
Best: Gnomebliteration. Or that quest in Redridge. A couple more, can't recall them all.
Worst: recently I did that quest in Townlong Steppes with the barrels that have to get shot for fire damage. Annoying! I started playing shortly before the shattering. I don't know any old quests
I also think the Crusader Bridenbrad series was great too, not just because of how emotional it was but because of why it was implemented in the first place. RIP.
Best for me -the chain in icecrown where you play as Arthas and end up fighting Illidan.
From the point of view of my Rogue with whom I do most of my questing, I would have to say the best is (EDIT: was ) the Theramore Deserter questline, you get (EDIT: got ) to do all kinds of shady rogue espionage kind of stuff.
Worst (by the same token) are probably the Cenarion Circle quests in Zangarmarsh. Running around planting flowers and looking after the local trees and wildlife isn't exactly up my alley.
Best quest: There's a lot of awesome quests in the game but hell, it has to be Welcome to the Machine. Laughed so hard I cried.
Although I'd also like to mention In Dreams. What an awesome quest chain. And of course the usual suspects - Sceptre of the Shifting Sands and Dungeon Set 2.
Worst quest: Yeah the obvious answer is City of Light. How has this quest not been fixed, removed or sped up somehow in like 6 years? But honourable mention: the goddamn crane quest in Krasarang. I finished the entire rep grind before finding enough feathers. The. Hell.
My favorite quest would probably be the Cipher of Damnation in SMV. Spent days to finish that quest. Finding a warlock to port me to the final boss and then beat him with a group and finally get my helm for tanking.

Haha, funny how the game has changed - the new BC leveling zones used to be the most efficient because of how much more modern they were than the old Vanilla ones. Now it's the opposite!

I'd like to nominate that quest simultaneously for the best and the worst. The coolness of the overall quest chain - best. The grind for those goddamn chests to get one of the ciphers - worst.

That's way up there for me too
Worst - Stupid Chicken Escort quest in tanaris that went from like uldum all the way to tanaris. AWEFUL.
Best - I hate questing in general; so nothing
Worst: Old Green Hills of Stranglethorn
Best: The Cyper of Damnation chain in SMV, or the Scepter chain if you count raid based quest chains.
Best. Quest. Ever. This is your booterang. There are many like it but this one is yours.
Best: The Day Deathwing Came (and I "came" with the Bloodelf male)
Worst: Shredder Pages in Ashenvale, The escort in Razorfen Downs . ..... WHY OH WHY does it have a prequest of talking to the same quest giver? So much drama EVERY SINGLE RUN when someone started it quickly.
Best: the rambo quests. you know what i mean. all of them. in both zones.
Worst: the meat quest for the nether drakes...aarrrghgh
