    Yeah, but the difference between an OC'd 8350 and an OC'd 3960x, and a 9590, is that the former 2 require intention from the user. The 9590 comes that way, which means you HAVE to buy a high end cooler off the bat, rather than being able to buy a high end cooler at will.

    The 3960X doesn't come with a cooler at all (actually do not know about the case of the 9590), so you might as well stick something better than a Hyper 212 Evo on it. Especially a CPU of that pricepoint, skimping on cooling. Well, eh.

    And as you say, the difference between the three (... at that clockspeed) is that the 9590 is technically stock. I'm not saying this in argument, just that that's what the CPU is about.

    How? 1.5V is the stock voltage for a 9590 and on the other hand 1.5Vcore is pretty standard for a fx8350@5GHz. Temperatures are on the same level so that means the TDP is exactly the same and for AMD TDP doesn't mean the max power draw just like Intel chips.

    TDP has little to do with power draw though.
