I can't believe I forgot about this earlier, and I've not noticed anyone else mention it ...

    Loot Specialisation
Being able to get drops for off-specs in LFR, scenarios, quests, etc - really handy!!

I'm also looking forward to Flex raids and Proving Grounds as others have mentioned, but didn't feel I should add those since I've not tried them yet.

I love that this was the expansion that they clearly demonstrated their iteration philosophy. From.changing faction tags to adding heroic scenarios without a queueing system and experimenting with weeklies instead of dailies, mop tried so hard to get the balance right.

I have played every expansion, and while my greatest memories are from vanilla, that's only because I was a single guy in my 20s. No other expansion held onto me as long without burning me out on raiding content.

Last boss in the warlock green fire chain was the highlight of the expansion for me.

Other than that.. if I am being generous.. I liked Jade Forest art and Klaxxi culture. Throne of thunder was a good raid. Farm was fun for minute. That's about it though.

Pet battles were also a success even though personally I don't give a shit.

Everything else including but definitely not limited to scenarios, challenge modes, charms/coins, no justice gear, no dungeons, gating, "legendary" timesink and RNG everything was garbage that either saved Blizzard production money, forced people to spend more time in game, or both.

    1. The raids have been great.
    2. the rarespawns was great fun hunting down.
    3. Reputation factions was fun grinding up rep with.
    4. storytelling throu quests was great
    5. worldbosses worled out great (ive really missed these)
    6. no flying until 90 was a great move, it made the world of pandaria feel more alive.
    7. challengemodes worked out fine to a degree, thou i hope in enxt expansion thou will have some kind of reward aswell besides cosmetics.. my hope is that these will be an alternative path of gear progression instead of lfr.
    8. hc scenarios, this feature turned out alot better then i expected and ive been having quite fun gearing up alts throu these. thou i can agree with the ppl saying they are to easy.. In next expansion id like to see the normal scenarios being more like the hc scenarios is now, and hc scenarios will be even harder and require cc and tactics.

I agree about the music. I love each expansion because I focus on the good things. Monks personally aren't my cup of tea, since I don't really like melee, but when I did try one it was hard to complain! xD The dailies, if you feel like doing them, are also interesting. This is personally my first expansion of raiding since I've finally got a good computer, so it's been significant to me personally because it's my time of experimentation in the way of raiding and proper end-game content. Pandaria is also breathtakingly beautiful. I love exploring it! Pandaren are also fun, and I love my Pandaren Mage alt.

i agree with this, hope they dont do the same with SOO n leave it like a 8-12 months before we see anything new, we're in 5.3 atm and ive nothing to do

however, i am a huge fan of this expansion, theres been bags of things to do until now, where as ive run out of things to do on my main. but the questing experience, especially with lorewalker cho, it made it feel quite entertaining, ive completed all alliance versions of panda land, my guild switched to horde about 4months ago, so now im experiencing all the horde side of the story too, we all knew garrosh was going be the last boss of soo, we never expected y'saarj to make a return in such style, however, i also feel theres something more behind garrosh and the corruption of an old god + the sha. i feel we have something huge awaiting us behind and after garrosh and before next expansion, i think people forget MOP hasnt even been out a year yet. i think we're in for alot of suprises.

challenge modes, though ive yet to complete them all, mostly because im tryin save them for as long as i can until i truely run out of things to do, but these feel rewarding, im glad they dont drop and offer awesome gear to people, i like the cosmetic transmogs, i like the mounts, just sad you can only pick one and use it on 1 single char (not account wide like pvp reward mounts)

scenarios are really interesting for quick vp/jp + to learn more about whats going on around in the current zones, i do wished they'd add more dungeons however, its nice to see old dungeons getting heroic modes, but they have nothing to do with the current content, i feel the older dungeons in heroic mode, should be an option, or some special meta to do with all old dungeons in heroic (maybe scaling abit like challenge modes)

raids, i agree with hof, msv dragged a little bit too, but other than that, so far so good, im enjoying it, loving the mechanics too, especially ones like hc stone guards, i found that encounter quite fun and amusing at times

brawlers guild is also pretty neat and so is pet battles

I liked pretty much everything. The things I felt were very good were...

    Pet Battles/Pet Collecting

There was skepticism at first of how well this would work out, and I HAVE had complaints about pets added, or some achievements. It hasn't been perfect. But for hardcore pet collectors, it has been a good thing. I enjoy that I have hundreds of pets to choose from, and they've added some very VERY cool ones this expansion. I can't wait to see what else they have in store for critters and pets next expansion. The addition of classic raid pet drops was equally exciting for me (especially the demonic pets - finally my warlock can have a tiny demon to follow him!)

    Lore

The lore was very well done. From the moment we hear about the continent to what happen in 5.4, we see the entire story of Pandaria. No holes are left open, no subplots left unresolved (except the Trolls, but there will always be Trolls). It was fun seeing parallels to the history of China in the Mogu (unified writing and measurements, one language, architecture). It was especially nice for me to see some continuation to Old Gods, Titans, and ancient/loa-type beings. It felt like it really fit into the lore, for me, while being a fresh take on it. It also left us asking more questions for the future, which is always a good thing. The Mantid were a very interesting race for me, and I love that we were able to work WITH a race of Aqir-like beings, as we were able to learn more about them that way (as opposed to the Qiraji or Nerubians, which we never really learn anything about their culture).

The inclusion of the Lorewalkers was a really fun way to find/read the lore as well, and I hope they continue that in future expansions. I would hope that if we ever see the remains of K'aresh, we would have a faction of Lorewalker-esque people who would tell lore like an epic poem from Mesopotamian times. I would hope to see an Atlantean city near Nazjatar if/when we go there, filled with a race that would tell lore like an ancient Greek play. The possibilities are endless! It was done very well, and I loved that Lorewalker Cho spoke the stories with an Asian flair in their presentation.

As far as everything else, there aren't many complaints. I've had too much to do this expansion - much better than too little to do.
3 hints to surviving MMO-C forums:
1.) If you have an opinion, someone will say that it is wrong
2.) If you have a source, there will be people who refuse to believe it
3.) If you use logic, it will be largely ignored
btw: Spires of Arak = Arakkoa.

There was even a hunter pet, Savage - definitely the most interesting pet hunt I've had so far!
there was a handful of rare hunter pets

Well they had a unified continent like BC and WotLK, and not spread out zones that made Cataclysm feel like less of a expansion but more as a content patch.

They tried to appeal to Pokemon fans and fans of turn based combat but failed miserably, still thats kinda fun, considering what a waste of development time that was.

Scenarios, The Farm, Pet Battles, LFR and the 5.1 storytelling method were my high points. I like how much effort they put into the lore this time, but I think they tried to do to much with discovery of Pandaria, the Horde v Alliance war, and the Horde revolution.

  17. #117
The raids have been great, and I really liked the 5.1 style daily quests. Pet battles are cool.

I love the large raid tiers, I really didn't like the small 7-8 boss raids in cataclysm.

Best expansion ever, they've done a complete 180 from cataclysm, The game is so much better now.

The farm did so well I expect to see player housing added before we hit level 100.

please got into the inns and tell me the music for this expansion is good.

immersion destroying garbage is all it is (the inn music, i couldn't tell you what the other music sounds like).

as far as good i don't mind the emphasis on dailies although i think their execution was lacking, there needs to be more variety.
