Anyway i think this law is bullshit but all this drama is only going to fuel the hate for LGBT from the huge amount of gay hating russians, heck since all this crap you have to be on your guard or these pink LGBT flag humpers will force a whole pole down your throat here in Leeuwarden(frisia)

Honestly just shut the fuck up you damned attention seekers and go suck your boyfriend's dick in your fabulous bedroom instead of in the public. I don't hate gays, i hate loud LGBT flag wavers forcing their shit upon you.
The more quiet a subjugated people are, the easier it is to subjugate them. Silence in the face of oppression is NEVER the right answer. Because when the people who are affected fail to bring light to the situation, then only the hateful side is ever heard, only ignorance is spread, and things only become worse.

It might annoy you, but your annoyance over a discussion of an issue is nothing compared to the bigotry, the fear, and the violence that those loud "LGBT flag humpers" face.

To be honest the guys jumping around wearing leather or fairy shit annoy me very much. The flamboyant SJWs annoy me as well. Heterosexual douche-bros also get me in a tizzy.

Basically, people can have legitimate gripes and movements but that doesn't exempt them from criticism for doing annoying things.

How can you blame people for being loud when they aren't getting fair or equal treatment? If LBGT people were universally excepted, pride parades might not be needed. Then again, who needs an excuse to throw a parade anyway? Especially ones so fabulous.

Being annoyed is a legitimate response to obnoxious people. Some of those things weird me out as well. But I don't become enraged or offended by them (not saying you do either). Basically, being annoyed is not justification for demanding they stfu, or raging against their movement and demanding that everyone on that side of the movement shut up just because you dislike those few annoying people. (Again, not saying you do any of that, but the person I replied to apparently does.)

The question is, why do you care enough in the first place to get annoyed?

That question sounds more poignant than it is. People get annoyed at really stupid shit. I get annoyed if I turn on my radio in the car and a song I don't like is playing.

But you care about that because you're now listening to a song you dislike and either have to change it, or listen to the whole thing. If some people want to have a parade and be really expressive and such, what difference does it make to you? Emotions don't usually come from things you don't care about.

I don't care enough to tell them to stop doing it, as dumb as I think leather chaps are. I believe in free expression like any other decent human being.

I don't care about (or get annoyed with) gay pride parades. I don't get annoyed with flamboyant people (usually) either. My original post that you referenced has me saying that being annoyed with "obnoxious people" is a legitimate reaction. Some flamboyant people are, in my opinion, obnoxiously so. But I was empathizing with GreatOak, not agreeing with him.

As for why he, or anyone else, should be annoyed by "those people": Some people find it difficult to accept all life-style choices. I'm certain I could find some potential choices that you would be unaccepting of. Call it bigotry or ignorance if you like (and you may be correct in saying so), but that's just the way it is for some people. I can empathize with those people, but I generally cannot agree with them. Still, if they are offended by a guy acting in a way that "guys aren't supposed to act," while I might empathize with their point of view, I certainly wouldn't condone them taking actions against said guys (including making said actions illegal or demanding said actions cease).

I'm not one of the crusaders for gay rights. I voted for it in my state, but beyond that I tend not to say too much, however, this little excerpt hit me in the gut. Gay or whatever, a kid man... god damn it.

Maybe you misunderstand me. I'm fine with them acting that way. People are free to act however they want as long as they don't harm anyone. I just find the mannerisms and attire of some of the more flamboyant types annoying. They can control the way the act, so I feel it's fine for me to take issue with it. I like men and women so I'm not speaking from a place of self-hatred or bigotry. I would never support any laws against their non-violent behavior either. I'm a live and let live kind of guy.

I didn't mean to clump you into the larger scope of that argument. I didn't assume you hated them, etc (and certainly didn't assume you to be within any of my descriptions that followed). I just meant that I could empathize with your perspective as well as more extreme perspectives. I did a terrible job of clarifying that in my previous post. Sorry for that.

Take away the accent, and I would have just thought he was an American politician.

The vast majority are indifferent, hence the silence on the issue.

The vast majority of what? Un-oppressed people?
