I'm getting a little sick of hard drive problems. This year alone I've had 2 actually go out on me, both of which were WD Blue 500GB Drives. And now a WD Black is making the loudest and most annoying sound when anything opens, or when I'm using a resource of any kind.
My question is, is there something I'm doing to cause this, or am I just having really bad luck? From what I know, WD is an amazing company and their blue and black drives are top notch.
Where is your computer located (Floor/Desk, think environment)? Also is it a laptop or desktop? Once you can answer these I'll throw out some recommendations. But chances are it's bad luck.
Are the hd's getting decent air flow in the case? WD drives tend to heat up quite a bit and that can cause problems in a long run. Theres also these rubber feets thingies for cases, if yours dont have them already or rubber holding docks for hd's in fancier cases.
