It's inevitable. When a game becomes as popular as World of Warcraft you're going to see plenty of fan renditions of their favorite characters, lore figures, and fictitious narratives.

Then... there's the downright weird. The aberrant. The stuff that doesn't make you go "Hmmm" but "What the hell?" What's the strangest fan art you guys have come across in your WoW-playing career? (Let's keep it suitable for work, please.)

That is already pretty close to all the porn stuff out there, just no (yet) explicit. The weirdest shit for me is probably all the loreguyXloreguy and loregirlXloregirl stuff and all the combinations of these, especially the ones involving enemies (I mean the sworn kind, not just the forced faction quarrel). What is with some people's obession of forcing other kinds of sexuality on characters? There is probably a deep psychological meaning to that I need to look up :P.

Erotic fanart is so commonplace I'd say it hardly classifies as weird in itself... You'll need to find some that cover the more outlandish fetishes. And I have yet to come across any gnome porn.

Well in the end it's the same stuff that you can find about everything else as well, just wow themed. Hardly surprising indeed I guess. Some of the stuff is actually quite funny :P.

Btw, I really wonder why this is still open, I mean this thread is like an invitation for someone to barge in and go crazy, like all the LFR threads, just with high potential for nudity.

Yeah, some of the dirty stuff mostly... There are some intimate pieces between characters that are beautifully done and artistic and I like them a lot, they aren't just some lonely pervy fan wanting to draw WoW porn. (Although one rather porn-like one I saw once that looked a lot like my friend's Belf made me laugh pretty well.)

The worst in my mind is that tied up, imprisoned stuff of female characters... That's just disturbing to me and wondering about the mindset of some who seem to have a fetish for that kind of "fan art."

Hell I just wish I had the talent like some of these folks do, but alas my hand is suited more to other forms of art than illustrative work.
