AH prices already dropping?

I'm noticing about a 10% drop in price for mats, most of the time, anymore. Until 2 weeks ago, you could sell GI ore for 60 - 65g, all day long. Earlier this week I bought about 100 stacks at 32g each, and resold at 55g. But getting 60g a stack isn't a sure thing anymore. Also, frostweave was always 60g a stack, now mostly 50g. Exotic leather is sometimes 20g a stack these days.

Seems a wee bit early for upcoming expansion sales, doesn't it?

Not particularly. When people have achieved whatever progression they want, they tend to spend more time farming. That, and they're likely done with dailies or isle on their mains, so they can either level an alt or spend more time making gold to bank before WoD rolls around.
