Doom should only be cast on you if you're not in a tanking specialization.

The DPS threshold to kill him before Doom isn't that high, I've done it as a DPS offspec (legendary cloak but no dps trinkets lol).

Doom should only be cast on you if you're not in a tanking specialization.

You get the doom debuff if you are not the current tank in threat list (pet classes for example). It has nothing to do with tank specializations.

The chess game in Kara used to frustrate me until someone showed me a guide somewhere that illustrated just how easy it can be.

The chess event was heavily nerfed more than once. It already was soloable in TBC, but it was a lot harder than it is now.
