LFR and LFD were especially irritating on X-Mas. Just so many nasty personalities constantly complaining about everything, calling people stupid (and worse), etc. I just ignore the rude people and/or turn off raid chat if it's a lot people bringing down the vibe. Not worth it.

    I don't do LFR anymore.

I lost so much interest in playing LFR.

I've a chat tab that only shows whispers and guildchat. Whenever LFR starts getting annoying like that, I just switch to that.

Turn off instance chat, stare in awe of all the botters on Durumu (that's seriously the only way people can be dying to that death beam now), and remember that LFR is the only place to get my mog gear.

I quit tanking LFR's and just dps.

Much less stress, much less pressure. I simply ignore chat this way, where while tanking... you really can't.

I also dip out on the 4th stack, as that's when people start getting nasty.

Personly I don't do LFR currently, I do normal and flexi. If you are getting bad flexi pugs then start forming them yourself and get the battle tag or the good flexi people and gather cool friendly people.

    1) Never tank.

    2) Don't expect it to be something other than it is. There'll be between 0-5 loudmouths who're various degrees of idiotic or amusing, and a significant portion of people who haven't seen content until 1 month after release or done it successfully until 3-4 months after release. I expect this, am occasionally positively surprised and, thanks to determination, I'm rarely disappointed.

Low expectations & an attitude of bemused ambivalence ftw.

I dunno. I don't have many interactions with the LFR community while alt-tabbed.

can't even bring myself to do it on alts that need the gear

I don't run it much because there's nothing there I really need. Even when I was running it though I had no expectations, chat was turned off and whatever happened happened. I just went in to do my piece and if I saw someone who wasn't would vote to kick them out if it came up. I rarely said anything and didn't call any attention to myself. And like anything else in the game, if I didn't feel like doing it, I didn't bother. It's a good way to play the game.

All of that said it's worth noting that people like to create forum drama for their own reasons (see my sig) but like LFD before it most of my runs came off with few if any problems except at the beginning of a tier. Contrary to how people portray it I never found there to be a lot of drama associated with Raid Finder. I believe that a lot of people find the same thing but don't bother to post their stories that would read like:

"Ran ToT last night in LFR. Everything went fine. No drama, few if any wipes."

Who cares to read and rage/comment about that?

    Lots and lots of sarcasm.
It was never Hardcore Vs Casual. It was Socialites Vs. Solo players

    1. Drinking

    2. Not tanking it until I'm super confident

I make it a game within itself. E.g. Solo tank the entire raid, stay alive the entire raid (helps to be night elf), be a vengeance who*e and try to do top dps etc.

Make it a game and it won't seem too boring after a whole.

After ToT there was zero reason for me to continue doing LFR. I had my capes on the 3 characters I could bare playing and left it at that. There were some 'moderate' upgrades for one of my characters when it launched, but it was so small that I couldn't be bothered for a chance at it.

Just too much screaming, AFKing and wait times for LFR for me to bother. The wait time, however is partially caused by players like me (tanks, healers) who have exited the system because there is nothing they want from it anymore.

I suppose for people who like pets it's the only way to increase your chances on getting them.

When I did do LFR I just decided to become part of the problem. Life gripping people near the edge of horridons bridge, or putting a gateway down in a perfectly fine place with the exit point being as close to the edge of say Durumus room as possible. Naturally putting a healthstone under it.

Ok, i'm going to just take it point for point:

    1. "Cowards who leave without a logical reason"
There could be reasons that you are unaware of. Many people join LFR because they don't have the time to join a proper raiding guild. I was looking at it just like you once, but then sometimes i had to drop the raid to go drive someone somewhere, or i had already done that specific boss for the week because i joined an incomplete raid, etc. Am i saying that there are no people who after 2-3 wipes just say "fuck it" and leave? No, but in most cases i believe that players are more determined than that, and nobody would gladly choose to leave behind playing a game unless real life matters call or it's not in their interest.

I deal with it by remembering the tens of times i had to leave an LFR because i couldn't loot garrosh anymore, because not 50 minutes earlier i joined a "one boss left Downfall LFR raid".

    2. "Elitists who talk down to everyone but others like them"
In general, i'm one of the people who they don't have to talk down to, because i take LFR too seriously, and i don't care much if they belittle other players, in general their insults aren't very original.

    3. "Chat trolls"
Can spot one from two miles away. If i'm bored i try to troll them back, otherwise, /ignore because they unnecessarily clutter the chat with BS.

    4. "Unorganized fools"

These are the worst of the 4 points. In general, i try to take lead and order people into grps, with colors, all the jazz. Been doing it since lei'shen, only because up until that LFR, you could just get enough stacks of determination and overpower it. I'm not the leader type, and in general i don't want the spotlight, but in certain cases it's either that, or hours of wiping with terrible, terrible players. I always choose the first, and pray that the determination stacks go up faster. If i'm short for time, i just leave, aaaand we've gone full circle, back to point 1, "Cowards who leave without a logical reason". There's always a reason.
