I had fun with it. It's nothing spectacular but I'd recommend grabbing it while on sale.

Having been in every single zone in that link and done all quests available on that map there is only one thing i have to say, this is no Skyrim in terms of freedom and with the option to go anywhere you wish, while quite large in itself its mostly a series of different fairly linear valleys linked together by small pathways.
You start at the far western end and have to work your way progressively towards the east until you reach the point where your main quest brings you over the sea to the east continent, there's not much choice in this unless you decide to rush the main quest.
Great game really should have sold more, if you don't have it you should pick it up with this deal.
Seriously, that was one of the best games I've played of the year it was released - the combat is amazing with a 360 controller.
You're making a huge assumption that I think anything done by Salvatore is worth more than a pile of manure.
Wait, that's wrong.
Manure is definitely worth something, Salvatore, not so much.
Played it, done it. Where can I get my wasted time back? The action looks cool at the start when you're just trying the combos, but then it gets old. The story is very generic and generally worthless (except for perhaps the Winter Court subplot). The enemies are fairytale-ish and the same across the entire game. First levels - you kill boggarts. Forest? You kill boggarts. Desert? Same boggarts. Plains? Boggarts again. Dark swamps? Guess...
In my opinion, they should give you money to play the game. It's that bad. I keep saying it. Of all the (A)RPG's released the past few years, it's without question the worst.
It's completely linear, it has fedex quests in a fucking single player game, combat is oversimplified, the storyline is not compelling, the voice actors are beyond terribad and the difference in quality between the voices is as well, it's graphically completely not impressive, balance is all over the place, hard is easy.
I could keep going on and on. $6, worth a better game.
While this is harsh review off it, it does speak some truths, as I also posted on 1st page.
The game really feels like a single player MMO at times; Say if you we're just lvling inn STV, or Nagrand inn wow. Not the most compelling and not challenging - Inn order to die once I got far into the game, I would need to try to die, and ofcourse thats on hard.
The only times I feelt stuck was on boss fights, where they useally have some one-shot mechanic, or atleast it hurts alot on hard. But keep RNG it, and even bosses dies after 3-10 tries.

Salvatore has quite lost it honestly. He was great back in the 80's honestly, but these days it's more about "How can I make Drizzt as whiny as possible, while still making him insanely powerful? Ooh I've got it, more dwagons!".

Not in any way. It was barely even an RPG, it was a hack 'n slash game through-and-through, it wasn't even remotely the best RPG in 2012.
Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann
Its a pretty fun game, If you have a xbox control its an awesome game to sit back and game on.
Ugh, I told myself I would MAYBE pick this up when it went on sale.......just for something to burn some time....Now here it is on sale, and I'm just so on the fence. Feel like 70% off still isn't enough off for what it is. (playing the demo was just "meh" for me)
is the DLC worth it? been wanting to grab this game on sale for quite a awhile but double the price if you buy the dlc as well
I spent the whopping $11 for the dlc too... I hope im not screwed again like Deux Stinx.
When you see someone in a thread making the same canned responses over and over, click their name, click view forum posts, and see if they are a troll. Then don't feed them."Gamer" is not a bad word. I identify as a gamer. When calling out those who persecute and harass, the word you're looking for is "asshole." @_DonAdams
I played the demo, hell I even bought the game and the DLC, and I still don't enjoy the game at all. Every time KoA gets brought up into a discussion I always hear how awesome the game is, I just wish I could see it too because I can't, and I've tried.
"In order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance." Paradox of tolerance
The one thing I really disliked was the camera and the field of view
KoA is a fantastic game. But it has kind of "single player MMO" taste that some player don't like.
It was clearly a first shot for something way bigger : the MMO. Sadly the company bankrupt. But the potential was clearly there, could have been great MMO.
Combat, and gear in the game were amazing. Combat is visceral and satisfying. Each weapon feels unique and like it could do serious damage. Style wise, the game also offers a ton. The way the gear looks on each character, and the different skins for the weapons are amazing.
The story line and difficulty are SEVERELY lacking. As an RPG player, I did every quest in every zone, and I quickly learned to regret it. You out level the content so fast, you are never in danger of dying past the first few "zones". The story line could not keep me playing either - the main Villain bored me to death and I lost my desire to complete it right at the end. Graphically, I found the textures lacking (not the same as in game item design).
