Yes we have those. My school did a celebration every month complete with food from that culture.

Closest thing i can compare to that is a world cuisine appreciation when i attended school, we selected the dishes we thought would be best.

We didn't explicitly celebrate a specific culture or "Race".

If they want it let them have it. It's not like they get preferred citizen status with more rights during February, it's just a month that emphasizes the historical contributions of African-Americans. People for some reason forget that jim crow and lynchings are only about 60 years in the past.

Not in the same way you do. The fact that during non-black history month we aren't allowed or supposed to acknowledge that black people are a different race but that's sort of counterproductive when we still have black history month, is it not? Human history month anyone? No?

I see the point that your getting at, but given that slavery was ended only two lifetimes ago and many people still alive today lived through hatred and institutionalized racism against African-Americans, I'd say the accomplishments made by them were special. There were more obstacles.
