he seriously said that super smash bros is worse than call of duty because it has "smash" in the title?
so what, is the wild thornberrys inappropriate because of the line "smashing"?

Video games are the anti-christ, its worse than hard drugs.
The average age of fox-news viewers is 68 years old, so no surprise there. Also yeah, Bill 'O is just doing the job he's paid to do.. Keepin' people ignorant and wary of the evil muslim stalinist maxist liberal facists socialist baby-eating devil worshipping atheist gun-grabbers commin' for everything you hold dear.
Also ofc it's the video games and not the lack of mental aid, emotional support for bullied kids, availability of firearms and other liberal hoaxes

Everything that comes out of O'Reilly's mouth is a crock of shit in some form or another, but this one is definitely up there as one of the dumbest things he's said. It's almost a moot point to criticize the guy at this point just because everything he says is idiotic.
That quote is from an uneducated and quite clearly biased dunce. Sorry.
Check out my expansion concept, World of Warcraft: Whispers of Madness

I am violent because I AM PROGRAMMED THAT WAY IN MY DNA. My psyche is programmed to have me be violent. Playing video games does not MAKE me violent, it GETS me violent. If I am playing a game and things keep going wrong, I will get angry and start yelling, swearing and punching my table. I am NOT, however, someone who just randomly goes out and kills people. The people who do that are ones with serious issues, whether mental or whatever. They are the ones who CAN NOT distinguish reality from fantasy, and think they can do the things they can in video games. They are the ones who give responsible, sensible video gamers a bad rap.
Bill O'Reilly doesn't know how the fucking tides work. I'm pretty sure complex questions of anthropology and mass psychology are a bit beyond his depth.
Video games don't make kids violent. Bad parenting makes kids violent.
If people raised their kids properly and paid attention to what they do and how they react to it, things would be much better. It's like they expect video games to babysit their kids, then blame the video games when it goes wrong.
Sometimes I think O'Reilly must just be a huge troll. I mean, saying SSB is more violent like games like Call of Duty? I don't agree with him for the most part, but he's not dumb enough to really believe that.
Bill O'Reilly thinks a lot of things and none of them is remotely sensible.
Neoliberals and neoconservatives (if either were classical liberals or classical conservatives, I'd probably have far more respect for both sides' asinine views) both love using video games as a scapegoat for political leverage. Blaming video games for kids being violent is the excuse used by those who are too lazy or unqualified to teach their children the difference between right and wrong, fantasy and reality. Parenting with personal responsibility! Try it some time, it's hip!
I've been much closer to getting violent over monopoly than I have ever been over any video game. That game should be banned.
One of these days, I should probably figure out a decent signature.
Man, I was employed in a major gaming magazine when that hit. Oh the controversies surrounding Night Trap, Mortal Kombat and anything produced by Razorsoft was quite amusing to say the least. And lets not forget that audio clip when the Columbine kids said "This will be just like playing F&$#!ing DOOM!" and when FOX news tried spinning the 9/11 attackers as using Video Games to hone their plane flying skills (They used the term "Video Games" when referring to their flight training simulators).
We had a running joke that no matter what game became a gaming violence news article, the news outlets ALWAYS played that same clip from MK1 of Sub Zero decapitating somebody. :P
This is why I no longer watch any talking head politics show. My blood pressure can't take it.
Call of Duty no more honors our soldiers than a person wearing a flag pin does. It's marketing. That's it. They count on people assuming that's what they're doing and play off the "RAH RAH 'MURICA!" mindset to sell more games here.
Calling Smash brothers terrible for kids because it has the word Smash in the title is just bone stupid and at this point BillO the clown is beyond any hope of recovery. What he wants is 1950 back and for everything to be the way that it was back then. He hates the youth of today because they have the temerity to question him and call him out on his BS and lies.
We won this war BillO and the gamers of the world aren't going anywhere.
