Question about weapon damage

When I gear/equip any of my dual wielding characters, I always put the weapon with the most weapon damage on my main hand, because that's what most attacks base their damage on... But I just thought about it, wouldn't it be better put in the offhand for enhancement shamans, as Lava Lash is based on offhand? On my meters/logs, Lava Lash is always ahead of Windfury on damage done, Stormstrike uses both, and shocks, LB and UE are based on AP, right? So any thoughts?

I had this same question a bit ago. I did some digging and apparently there was a short time in Cataclysm when Enh did this because Lava Lash was absurdly powerful, but remember OH weapons suffer a damage loss and at this time the damage of Lava Lash isn't enough to make up for it. It's still best to put your highest weapon-damage weapon in your MH.
