Will the Pandaren Same Face issue also be resolved in Warlords Of Draenor?

Ask them. Create some buzz. If it is brought to their attention and enough people want it then they might make it a priority.

It won't. Pandaren are not getting any sort of update/tweaks right now.

And it's not really "easy". Easy is making 5 (or 20 in case of Pandaren, doesn't really matter) barely different textures for the same face model.
There's some serious work that goes into this new kind of customization.
They've got a ton of work as it is.

Blizzard's goal was to bring the old races up to Pandaren level. Now, they are addressing same face. Why wouldn't they just do this last step for a model that is already visually where they want it?

I imagine if they were to give them more faces, it would be done after all of the rest
of the races get brought up to Pandaren quality, including Worgen and Goblins.

Too much work. Pandas aren't the focus of this expac and are considered 'good' in Blizzard's books.


And by bring the old races up to Panda level, it isn't just talking about faces. Poly count, animations, expressions, and so forth.

They should probably just give out free character customization tokens to everyone. I mean, most people I know who play female trolls all use one of two different faces because the others are just hideous. I'm willing to bet that with the remodel more of the faces will be appealing.

I don't think it's greedy at all. It seems that creating the Pandaren model inspired Blizzard to update the old models. In updating these models, the WoW community pressed the issue of "same face" and said that it would be unacceptable if their characters all had the same face.
I think people didn't care so much with the Pandaren same face issue because they were a new race and their animations and emotes were so well done. I remember many complaining about the sameness of the female Pandaren faces.

I think rigging the faces differently and giving the females more color options would be reasonable. It doesn't have to be super drastic, as they are bears.

Wrong. They want to get worgen and goblins done, too, but they said those will come later, in a content patch or something. They do need updating. Pandaren don't. Their only problem is the sameface.



As for the OP's question: I hope. They can finally make different faces, and worgen and pandaren could really, really use different faces. Not for launch, but maybe in later patches. I think they said that, once they overhaul the races, they're not done, and they are planning to add more and more customization, like new hair, new new beards, the option for longer tails, the option for orcs to stand straight. I hope that includes adding more faces to races over time.

They did not confirm anything that they were going to be in a content patch for WoD. All the art panel hinted at it was something they'd like to do.

Actually, once the models are done, all they have to do is play with the rigging to create different faces. It's actually pretty easy and shouldnt take more than an hour per face.
