Iceland or New Zealand. I'm an island country with nice sea and mountains, much renewable power, forests (more true for New Zealand), I'm not considered truly important so nobody cares what I do yet I care what others do and trade with friends (EU or Australia). I'm also somewhat isolated except for close friends (Greenland, Faeroe and Australia) and I manage to teach others lessons even though nobody gave me any attention for the solution.

I'd stick with Greece. Too much history and greatness in the past. Things are bad now, but Greece has endured a lot worse over its very long history.

Besides, if I were a country, being the country that claims real (and mythical) heroes and great men like Theseus, Achilles, Heracles, Leonidas, Pericles, Alexander the Great, Socrates, Plato, and Homer as my sons would be quite a point of pride. Let alone the myriad Byzantine history that we share with other Balkan countries.
