Anyone else frustrated with racials in PvP?

One of the changes I was most looking forward to in Warlords was balancing racials particularly in regards to PvP. As we now know this has not happened and it is extremely unlikely they will change. A lot of you will say you can play what you want. This is true for some. As a competitive players however I really cannot, why would I handicap myself? To make matters even worse racials are now heavily skewed in favor of Alliance races while also being more interesting (tinfoil hat theories?). Escape Artist is absurd on a 1 minute cooldown, Stoneform was buffed against casters, and Blizzard confirmed they fully intend for Every Man for Himself to go in as is which is also absurd considering the WOTF nerf. Hardiness and Will of the Forsaken we're hit hard but even now Orc and Undead will remain the preeminent PvP races. Why? Because when you're playing high MMR matches every little bit matters. If one is exceptionally serious they will have to go Alliance. This is not cool. The only racial balance that has actually happened was bringing PVE numbers back in line. I'm looking forward to the expansion but it'll will be the same old crap as far as races go. I for one just wish they would deactivate racials in arena and RBG's.

As a Resto druid on horde I feel your pain. Shadowmeld always been a mile ahead of taurent and troll racials for PvP. Myself I'm just for the removal of racial in PvP for a long time.

EMFH not getting flat out removed or nerfed is a major joke and a spit in the face. That simply goes to show how irrelevant Pvp is in Blizzard's eyes. Considering the state it's been in for years ever since they started to believe derp pve specs have to be viable I can't even blame them anymore.

I got so tired of the OP Alliance racials that I faction changed my main PvP toon. Either Blizzard is too stupid to see it or they honestly just want the Alliance to dominate PvP. I doubt they're that stupid, so...

Yeah I can only imagine it's part of a scheme to bolster the Alliance ranks with more competitive players, you would have to be inept to not see the issue. Unfortunately it's half-baked and diminishes the game in a big way.

The racial abilities should probably be looked at and tweaked. Maybe as the first few seasons go on, things will change.

I can guarantee you the racials will not be tweeked if they go live. Also favoritism is absolutely not the issue here. The fact that the Alliance racials are strides better is also not the real issue. The issue is they failed to normalize racials and have clearly demonstrated they do not lack the ability to do so. Forcing competitive players to choose between a small handful of races, much the same as it has been for years.

I'm with you on this one , I'm afraid i will have to play human cuz of double trinket.......and dwarf for the "oh yeah you got me full dots?" np stoneskin. Besides all that i really want to play Draenei , the racials have been buffed but still not as strong

Are you trolling? I don't give a **** about factions, they're meaningless. The issue here is the racials are still as broken as ever in PvP and Blizzard does not give a damn.

It's not perfect, but the WoD changes atleast even the playing field in PvE, where alliance racials were garbage.

As for pvp, sure, it's not perfect. The human/nelf/ud trio rules live, and will continue to do so in WoD. But it's a lot better than it has been in the past. I have never felt that racials lost me the game in MoP.

WoW has already became relaxed too many fantasy elements from their giant fantasy game. Eliminating racials would just be another nail in that coffin.

EMFH won't be nerfed until after the first season is my guess. With no more resil and inflated HP pools comparatively we will have to wait and see what the new "meta" is. Will we continue to CC the healer while we nuke a DPS down? Nuke the healer through defensives? Can't nerf it until you know how it interacts with the new gameplay.

When it comes to racials, Alliance is more PVP than Horde. Personally I don't care for them I play Alliance and think they all need to be removed. Lowering the times on Alliance and raising the time on Horde is a slap in the face.

With that said, no more Horde or Alliance favoritism please. Play the faction you like and the class for whatever reason. Racials should not be the reason to play a certain race/class/faction. That takes away the fun part of the game.

Problem is, they left them unchecked and because of this, horde is the majority. If they balanced them equally, then everyone would remain where they are.


My tinfoil hat guess will be that they will change it mid-season/expansion after a decent amount of players migrated for racials, balancing things a bit.

I do think the human one should be changed. Not because I think it's too OP, (prefer Night elf or Dwarf on my chars for a general PvP setting) but because I think it's pretty bad design to have a racial that does the exact same thing as a PvP trinket every other race use.
