Well if I recall he did it on a weekend(Which is not the best to do things).I think you are setting yourself up for a failure, unless you don't want to PC game any major titles ever again. Like I said before, just about every game nowadays that you could purchase from a store or online is going to require you to register on either Steam (the majority) or Origin (mostly EA games). Sure, there are some indie titles, but as a lot of indie titles are being greenlit by Steam, you will find that the majority of even those are going to go through a digital provider.
It's like saying that the traffic was horrendous on your way to work so you are no longer going to drive on paved roads. Maybe doable, but is it realistic?
I do sympathize though, a week is a long time to wait for an internet response time. How long were the phone waits, and could they not solve it that way?
