On topic, my Haunted Memento (yes, Haunted, the WotLK one) is working just fine. Not sure what the issue is with yours. I'd suggest relogging, but then it'll take you eight days to see if that worked.

Relogged, sent to other characters, still 15 seconds buff.

You were told that by TWO people, one of which posted less that a minute after you stated you had Haunted not Haunting. TWO. The remainder were people telling you that nothing had changed, which btw to them is entirely possible. Honestly, if two people telling you that you're wrong frustrates you, how do you make it through a day?

I can confirm that there's something wrong with the Haunted Memento, OP.


The item seems to buff me with a 15 second debuff at random intervals, though it's always applied on log in.
The shade also seems to disappear randomly, before the timer runs out. (but that might be a phasing issue.)

I just checked it in-game and I can confirm that old Haunted Memento only gives 15 sec buff. Maybe it's caused by learning DMF toy but I didn't used it and no one used it on me. Just put my Haunted Memento in bank then take it back and you get 15 sec buff. Not permanent.

I don't have a horse in this race, frankly because I don't give a damn. But you haven't really proven anyone wrong, or proven yourself right. All those screenshots do is show that, 1) you do have the fifteen second buff that is acquired by using Haunting Memento, and 2) you have a Haunted Memento in you possession. I'm not saying you went out of you way to use the toybox version just to gain the buff for a SS, but you could have. And the fact that you could, relinquishes every claim you want to make at being right, while others are wrong.

Also, when you are looking for help in a thread, it's usually not good to mock those answering with possibilities. When you do that, people stop responding, because they believe you're an asshat. Not necessarily my personal feelings, just the general vibe that your last post gives off.

You were saying he had the haunting memento, not the haunted memento. You as a conglomerate went out of your way to parrot it over and over and over and over again that it was the haunting, not the haunted. Please explain to me how it's even remotely possible for you to be getting defensive when someone tells you that's not the case for the 100th time.

It was getting into the realm of harassment. If you wanted to be constructive and discuss the situation then you'd read the first 10 posts and not make another one saying the exact same thing. This isn't a thousand page thread. It's not even 3. You can do the legwork.

All the doubters apparently can't use Wowhead. The buffs from the two items say different things when moused over. The "Something is with you...." one is only from the Haunted Memento.

I'm getting it too. Actually noticed the Scourge Haunt dying in my combat log, and then my buff was missing. Next time I made it to a bank, I deposited it then took it back out and now I only get a 15s buff.

I don't have the DMF item on any character.

Before the EU servers went down this morning my Haunted buff was permanent. I've noticed that the /scared animation plays very frequently though, like if the buff is removed and then reapplied again. But I watched the buff carefully and it never disappeared, and it definitely didn't have a timer.

EU servers are back up. Buff is still permanent. No timer.


If yours still has a timer you should probably ticket it.
