Seems like blizz made a smart move to counter nostalgia.
Ashran: nostalgia AV - boring
Vanilla MC - boring, Imagine if you had to make your own 40m group.
Southshore vs tarren mill - boring
all the new content - fun

"but its not exactly like the original, so thats why it is boring!"
"And all those exclamation marks, you notice? Five?
A sure sign of someone who wears his underpants on his head."
Except ashran is nothing like old AV and i wouldn't say all the new content is fun
Soutshore vs tarren mill wasnt forced BG.. It was part of world pvp.
The new content is not very fun to me, actually. Your post should reflect the fact that it's an opinion and not a fact.
Fenixdown (retail) : level 60 priest. 2005-2015, 2022-???? (returned!)
Fenixdown (classic) : level 70 priest. 2019 - present
ashran and tarren mill are great, if you're ranged.
if you're melee you just wait around for an enemy melee to be stupid enough to run into your zerg
Playing since 2004 , nothing comes closer to TBC /endthread
Ashran - have not tested it yet so cannot judge.
MC - this has a huge nostalgia fest and i loved it. not to mention it is so incredible hilarious seeing people fuck up the most simple mechanics (you are the bomb!)
Tarran mill southshore - not done yet but since its a bg it wont have near the impact of the thing in the world
Alterac Valley lasted for 3 days and more on our servers... just saying.
MC was the first raid for everyone and getting 40 people to work together was exhilarating for any raid lead I assume. I know it was for me. And killing Ragnaros for the first time? That was a thing people still remember today.
Southshore vs. Tarren Mill (or xroads, or OG raids) were spontaneous events. Developers need to learn that you can't "recreate" spontaneity. That's a paradox.
Nostalgia haters: Your turn.

MC was a breeze when I did it with mostly guild run. Everyone was so hyped we managed to get around 30 people from my guild. The puggers at the start were going "go go go" but with time they calmed down and went with our flow. We cleared it in around 2 hours and had a blast remembering alot of stuff.
Especially hunters pulling entire rooms by accident !
The only bad thing with it is that they went overboard with the nerfs Especially Sulfuron Harbinger and Majordomo Executus, their adds were significantly less powerfull than their original versions.

Ashran - Nothing like old AV
MC - Bosses drop like a fly just in zerg mode, no tactic, positioning needed. Trash is over tuned by ~10%. But it has a cool nostalgia feeling
Soutshore - This is like the old days. AoE fest from 30 yards. It was fun for 10 mins back in the old days and now too.
Molten Core is most likely not enjoyable due to the fact its LFR, with trolls pulling Trash and Bosses left right and center. It was organized and carefully executed back in the day, now its more of a headache.
Ashran....... Ashran? Wait what? AV comparison? Where does that come from.... Not in a million years is that comparable. Not even remotely.
MC / TM/SS. Sorry..... That is a temporary event. Wouldn't be worth it mentioning at all. It's Blizzards way of celebrating 10 yrs of WOW with us..
I would have done it a tad different. MC as location, yes.. But then I would have replaced the bosses with a variety of raid bosses throughout those 10 yrs.
Yet still, MC is kinda cool to see at max level for a bit. It's far from the chaotic environment what some wanna make it sound to be.
The BG, I don't think it was meant to be a replica of the events. It's more a reminiscence than anything, and we're part of that. If you find any of this boring, for Christ's sake, then don't do it. Nothing exists that suits every single person. That becomes ever more true, the bigger the crowd. And with some 10 mio ppl, it's not surprising..
