Two questions for 6.1 mission reward and salvage crates

1) Is it worth stock piling salvage crates for 6.1 or open all prior? Which is more beneficial and why?

2) The 630 blue item rewards from 615 quests seem to be BoA in 6.1, BUT.. does that mean all new ones will be BoA, or if we stock pile them now on the few 100s we have they will turn BoA come 6.1? Curious as this will help alts immensely and for go all having to do random heroics for the 1000th time..

I would open as many crates as possible now, the change is quite a heavy nerf.
To me it's a bit... is salvage yard even worth keeping at all after patch or would another profession building be more profitable.
