i dont understand

He means not to embedd to big gifs to the forum as some are quite large and take ages to load for people on mobile devices or bad internet and can slow down the entire page.

The file size of that gif (and several other animal gifs you've linked lately) is really big for a gif, in this case ~6.6MB (iirc), which takes a bit to load even with normal internet, and even more so with a phone or bad internet, which breaks the entire site and / or browser while it's loading, or at least heavily slows it down.

If you link the image instead it won't be loaded until you click it (duh) which means you can just close it if it's big / not open a gif on mobile to begin with.


If you use FF you can rightclick the image and go to "view image info" to see it's filesize before posting. ^^

Ok, atm I have a Magic article on a cool deck that I really want and that is pretty expensive open, because I don't want to bookmark it, but also not lose it yet.^^

I have about 20 open right now, about 15 of them are things I want to read, watch or just need to check repeatedly, but I don't want to bookmark / save and are particularly long and I'm procrastinating. ><

I bookmark everything so got almost 1000 bookmarks then i go through them maybe once every 4 months and delete the ones i cba to care about anymore.

So i always only have like 5 tabs max open at times.

As for file size.... not sure, but anything above 1000 KB is surely too much. ;>

I usualy go with max 4mb for a gif but most of the time most gifs are only 2mb and have had no complaints about that.
