    Spider-Gwyn

    http://time.com/3724147/spidergwen-spiderman-comics/

Why? Can't they just stay dead? Seriously, Emma Stone was a sexy Gwyn, but not sexy enough to bring back someone whose been dead since 1973.

Her reintroduction is part of Marvel’s ongoing effort to reach out to its growing female fan base
    God dammit feminism.

This is HARDLY the first time the bring her back though. And they got so many multiverses, nobody is dead anyway

Maybe we'll eventually get a sexy female superhero movie.

    Fine by me.

*shrug* I always liked Gwen Stacy, always hated Emma Stone. Plus, I never really read Spiderman so I don't mind a character reboot over 30 years later.

Speaking on the feminism note, some of the actual Spider-Woman covers are disgustingly pornographic, clearly traced-over porn with some minor changes.

This sort of thing is why complaint about character changes in comic book movies (and things like that female Thor "controversy") always amuse me.

When have they brought back Gwyn?

Though you have a point with the multiverse thing.

It's more of an itch than anything. I thought Gwyn Stacey's life is unrevivable. it's like Aerith's death from FF7 in spite of Pheonix Downs.

Isn't Wonder Woman in the new Superman movie coming out? Fun fact though, Wonder Woman was first introduced as a secretary while the men did the heroing

There were some clone story after she died, but it's more that she's come back with the reboots (Ultimate and such)

That seems fairly impractical... Why not just get a normal person? Surely those are more plentiful than a chick with super friggin strength.

Feminists picked one of the worst characters to pitch a fit about:

Hate to break it to you, but she was resurrected years ago.

Oh wow, a clone. Big deal. Other than that i've only seen her in what could've been scenes with Peter.

Hate to say it, but it roped me in. Then again, I don't really have anything against scantily clad superheroes (aside from Starfire level of stuff) and actually quite enjoy the sexuality of both male and female characters but none of them really jumped out to me as someone I'd want to follow the adventures of.

And yet I've pre-ordered the first couple of issues of Spider-Gwen. So, yeah. The design is appealing, the character is appealing. Let's see how it goes!

While it's true that Spider-folks do a lot of crawling around, the issue is not that she is crawling, the issue is Greg Land can't draw and traces porn. From an art pov, that "drawing" is terrible. The perspective in the back is off and it looks like her head is mounted on her shoulder, because the actual NSFW image the girl has her head down low, open and ready for a cock. Among other problems.

I doubt "feminists" would be complaining if someone actually drew a wall-crawling spider-woman.
    Example:

I'm not saying there shouldn't be fan service, but there's a very big difference between the way men and women are portrayed sexually.

And that's sufficient evidence that Marvel knows how to market.

I hope that everyone knows that "god dammit feminism" is a meme started by me to poke fun at how much gen-ot talks about it and in no way reflects my stances when I use it.

Celista even made me a meme for it that I use occasionally.

Ugh. Both images are awful. I'd rather argue against Spider-woman because of the terrible design rather than the pose. Which is impractical but it is also for Spiderman to get those muscles and that butt flaunted (yuck).

Oooh, yeah! I presumed as much! ^_^ Anyway, this is the first time I have pre-ordered a comic since I went through a stage of totes adoring / wanting to be Amy Rose when I was growing up and managing to whine at my parents enough to pre-order some comic she was in. It was a bit rubbish and did nothing to stop my next stage of whining which was to be allowed Sonic Drift. Also was a bit rubbish

I'm rambling. So yeah. Spider-Gwen. Good marketing. Love the hood thing.
