Good Luck on that, Draenor was designed so that the majority of the ore came from the mine so that there are actually very few ore nodes out in "the world" compared to previous xpacs and zones.

Is that for real or just an impression created by not having flying mounts?

Bit of both, really.

I just run around Nagrand, since I have the garrison that allows me not to dismount. But I'll only grab ore while I'm just running around for timber. I'f I'm questing or trapping, I usually skip.
