What trinket?
Is it available as a pvp version as well?
Because spriests in pvp, rbg or arena, not really top tier tbh :P
Nerfing a spec for a pve only trinket would be silly, or?

That's a pretty stupid assumption to make, what with their continued insistence on 100% RNG bullshit with regards to tier sets. It was a fine policy when you were guaranteed to at least get some tier eventually off JP/VP vendors, back in Wrath and Cataclysm-- and then later on when you had an additional shot at getting LFR versions of your tier to fill in gaps-- but those halcyon days are far behind us.
With their extreme love of jackpot-or-jerkoff RNG-based systems, I sometimes wonder if Metzen would rather be running a casino in Vegas.

I think what I like about it least (if I'm correctly assessing the benefit) is the feeling of pre-emptive nerfs to keep middle-of-the-pack specs down. Now, presumably they are working off a more advanced build, where we're overpowered and need to be brought down. It's just a communication error IMO on their part - when they announce the nerf, but not the (theoretical) 'buff' that caused it - or their reasoning.
As example, if you compare to League of Legends - they meticulously document not only their changes, but why they nerfed ability X, even when it's 2% nerf/buff.
I am pretty sure Blizzard does this already - they don't usually give out a detailed explanation outside of major patches, but for said major patches there is at least some explanation why xyz is buffed/nerfed/reworked(even if the reasoning might be stupid).
Riot doesn't explain their changes until patch day get closer as well; PTR changes that aren't going to be rolled out extremely soon for both Blizzard and Riot seem to go quietly for the most part.

What Riot definitely does better than Blizzard is announcing their mid-to-long term design direction. For example, Riot announced their general plans with tank junglers weeks and months ahead of the Cinderhulk implementation, so people could better plan for the future. Another example would be they mention in their patch notes which noteworthy champions were currently being looked at even if they didn't receive any immediate changes.
You don't really see that consistently from Blizzard outside of the rare useful blue post or twitter, and even then it has to be prompted by a member of a community to begin with.

weakest stat for AS gets nerfed. well done blizzard.
AS is pretty much the go to spec with gear in 95% of situations now so not sure what this nerf was supposed to accomplish.
Perhaps the trinket has a personal drop rate, like heirlooms off Garrosh? Hell, it might even be a 100% for the first time you kill him. It's way too early in the PTR cycle to say.
Regardless, I can't begin to express how incredibly stupid it is that they would nerf the worst stat for our go-to scaling talent because of a trinket which frankly sucks dick for said talent.
Im not sure how many times ive thought if blizz ever played a spriest on a serious level. Im so tired of the things they do, but still I really NOT want to change specc because somehow I love it.
Well, they have always nerfed spriests when they have had the chance, needed or not. I mean, I read stats on frontpage here on mythic raid dps, and it was far from the top, same as we don't see spriests top tier arena or rbg. But well, for some reason... we belong on the ground.
Im betting the DP is a nerf because with more crit will = more orbs with AS. I hate blizzard
Blizzard is approaching this badly. I'm not saying they're just doing this out of the blue; because they have info that we might not. Maybe shadow scales extremely well into 6.2 and they're trying to dampen it a bit.
However they could be a little smarter about it; they should have a blue post go up with the PTR (because they know everything gets datamined instantly), to explain some of the changes.
So far it looks like some of the strongest classes are getting buffs where some of the weaker ones are getting nerfs; without a real good picture about why it's happening.
Definitely. Don't think there's a reason to hate though. Just makes CoP more viable for a wider range of ilvls. It's gonna hurt your entry level DPS in Citadel, but ultimately shadow priests have the best scaling out of any class (except maybe fire mages), so I think the spec will end up being good after you get some more crit gear. Mastery nerf didn't make sense cause it does the opposite of fixing the problem - it just hurts CoP more and doesn't change anything for AS. Before the PTR, I was honestly expecting a direct nerf to the talent, maybe by removing the 100% bonus damage on the apparitions, but I guess -DP is their take on it.
are the 6.2 tier bonuses available yet?
