Johanna possibly Warrior class (Info inside)

So people have been wondering if Johanna, the new crusader hero, will be warrior or support.

From what I've seen and read, it seems like she will indeed be a Warrior class, if her stats are of any indication, especially when compared to other Warriors and Supports (Stats taken from HeroesNexus.com;

So from what we can gather here is that Johanna will play as a sort of control tank, judging by the datamining of her abilities. Her talents and trait seem to indicate that she will be a mitigation tank as well, with her trait Iron Skin (Become Unstoppable and gain a Shield that absorbs 1343 (250.5 + 57.5 per level) damage for 4 seconds.) being a strong focus for her to survive team fights, as well as talents such as Reinforce (Using Basic Abilities reduces the next Basic Attack against you by 50%. Maximum 2 stacks.) and The Crusade Marches On (Basic and Heroic Abilities lower the cooldown of Iron Skin by 1.5 seconds.)

She looks like a rather interesting tank, especially when much of her toolkit is focused on crowd control through slows and stuns. The only issue is that she may only find use in coordinated team fights where she can control the enemy team while the assassins beat them down. Her low health and damage when compared to other tanks may mean that she won't have much presence in solo fights, though her abilities may make up for that.

All in all, can't wait to test her out. =D

She sounds freaking awesome! love the look of her kit, SO MUCH CONTROL and super tanky as well. Her damage seems a bit low, but I'm thinking she's supposed to be a tank and frankly her kit backs that up, if she was super tanky AND had great damage, she wouldn't make it to live un-nerfed . Between her trait, CDR talents and Indestructable, I can see her being nigh on immortal end game, even when focused (TBH I can see them removing unstoppable from her trait).

Add in her Centurion release skin looks amazing and I'm so happy right now I can't put it into words

She is a tank/bruiser type character. They do have her talent build released, here is my thought and builds that I have made:

Pure Action Tank

APcd 'Balance' Johanna

Straight AP Sustain Johanna

ADTank Control Johanna

Tank me now!

Regen Tank

Mercing Johanna?

Crack Johanna

Pure Active tank Johanna might be pretty strong, pretty much every talent you get it is a reactive type talent.

I think the APcd Balanced build might be the best Johanna build. It has fast cooldowns, some cc, slow, Survivability, it kinda has a little of everything.

The AP sustain build is basically grabbing everything that will increase damage, though it does need allies help to deal damage.

The ADT is a tank that is focused on being a counter to auto attack damage with some control, so basically a Illidan killer.

Tank Me Now is a passive tank, you don't get any extra buttons, no real special effects on your moves, you are just a hard bitch to kill.

Regen tank focuses on hp regen. Grab orbs, have more regen, have an ability to heal you, have an passive talent so that you can use your heal more often. With Battle Momentum you have more damage, but the heal might not be worth it?

Merc Johanna might work?

The Crack build is basically a Crusader on crack. All speed talents, fun build.

She was confirmed to be warrior before Sylvanas even came out. They did an official event in Korea where they mentioned the roles of the 3 upcoming D3 heroes. Butcher is melee assassin, Crusader is tank and Skeleton King I couldn't make out because they had commentators commentating over the English Blizzard employee (it wasn't translating because the translation came afterwards).

IIRC Leoric is a melee Specialist, but I'm FAR from 100% about that.

Obviously this is all dependant on testing(especially Laws of Hope, I'm guessing that 1hps scales, but if it doesn't...), but this is probably the base setup I'll be using.

Yeah, that will be good vs AA heroes, but Holy Renewal might be a bit better vs AP build heroes.

I do want to mention Reinforce. It actually is worded differently than the usual Block.

You automatically get block passively, but with Reinforce you have to cast an ability. It has more potential than block. Also it just says basic attack against you, not a heroes. So it should work vs mercs, minions, and it might work vs bosses and summons? And because it is tied to you abilities, cd Johanna's will even get more benefit out of it.

I don't think they'll make it work with Minions, would be annoying as hell to have two minions burn your charges and then take a full hit from a hero... Mercs/bosses/summons maybe, but not minions. Could potentially make her a decent "Jungler" (not that the role really exists in HoTS), lots of defenses, decent AoE for fast farming and either Heroic would be a good initiate.

I love Warrior as a role, but I agree I've found them less fun to play, but that's mostly because I don't like the kit of any of the warriors. Cast Aside Tyrael was my favourite set up in game, but then that got removed, which kinda killed warriors for me. Johanna looks like she'll have multiple different fun playstyles, so hopefully they won't nerf them all .

Disappointed that now both Diablo Melee Nephelem Heroes in Storm are Females. Sonya is Cool but I was looking forward to Male Crusader if it was added. He has an awesome Voice and looks like a badass in full plate armour.

Before anyone says "But they will probably give a Male Skin". Even if that is so that would mean having to spend money to use it.

I still don't get why they are adding Diablo 3 Heroes only atm. Why are there no Paladin or Necro Heroes already?

Also: Why is almost everyone of the Diablo 3 Heroes female? Male Crusader would have been pretty awesome and bulky. A shame.

Still, I like her design quite a lot and I look forward on playing her (her Toolkit is more or less the same build I love to use in D3 already )

The Starcraft franchise has the exact opposite problem, they lack warriors.

Yeah, a part of me wanted them to make the Crusader some kind of Support/Warrior hybrid thing, but then I realized that she'd end up just being another Uther.

Yeah, although I'm SUPER glad they didn't make Johanna a Support (I just don't think Crusader's kit would work well as a support, I mean you COULD do it, but it wouldn't feel right to the core of the character.) I think the next Diablo character needs to be a support. Either Eirenna, Deckard, Leah or Andariel.

Then the next SC hero needs to be a Warrior, either Fenix, Fenix or possibly if they can make his kit work Fenix.

Also I think they should add Fenix
