    Best Flag

    What is everyone's favorite flag design currently in use? It can be national, regional, or even city, but please keep it to official/civil flags, not clubs/organizations. Before posting flag images, please check to make sure they aren't too much wider than 800 pixels. You can click the resolution link on most google images to see multiple sizes of a given image to choose from.

    I think my favorite national flag is the UK, though the position of the diagonal red bars has always bugged me:



    A close second is Norway:

    It is because in 1801 Ireland became a co-member of the United Kingdom and such the flag was modified to include the red St. Patrick's cross, however if kept in fuller proportion it would have relegated the St. Andrews' cross of Scotland into an inferior position, looking more like a border than representation of what is a more senior kingdom within the Union. So the St Patricks cross is represented at half its normal diagonal width keeping the St Andrews cross in a position of prominence. The offset is such that in the top quarters the St Andrews cross occupies the upper position, and in the lower quarters the St Patricks cross occupies the upper position.

    Oh for fuck sakes, did you really have to mention the lines were uneven? That is now going to bug me for the rest of my life.

    Also, I like Australia the best

    The flag of Liechtenstein (as well as Ukraine's) I've always adored. I just like how the blue sits on top of the other color, and in Liechtenstein's case, a crown triumphantly representing this almost completely unknown monarchy with such pride. It's simple and pure.
