If the movie had never been decided on to be made by Blizzard do you think we still would have gotten WoD?

Yes I do. I dont think wod was a symptom of the movie.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
Seeing that the Warcraft movie was mentioned as early as 2007, long before anyone new there would be a WoD expansion, I'm pretty sure there'd be a movie if there was no WoD... would there be a WoD if there was no movie? Well, it's a good chance, cos we did get a WoD, and it is very much in line with the horde profile building that the last 10 years of warcraft have been focusing on largely, so I'd think so, however the timing around the movie release may have been influenced..but that's about it.
IIRC they announced WoD at the same Blizzcon that they spilled the beans that the story would revovle around the first war, so I can see how it would look like one could have influenced the other, in fact it's a thought that has crossed my mind a couple of times.
That being said, I don't think that is the case. It makes sense, to me at least, have the Warcraft movie on the story in the original game. A great starting point, as I am sure there are options for additional movies if this one does well.
And seeing as they constantly state they already have the next few expansions planned out WoD was already in the plans. I think WoD was made primarily to set up the story for Legion.

I'm not 100% sure, as the premise of the story was slightly far fetched.
Maybe something similar, but I have no doubt that the movie influenced the product we got.
