Neither, really. I lived in South Korea for a little over 2 months. I was suppose to be there for 3 years, but ended up coming back to the States because I didn't think it was entirely safe for my two kids to live there atm. Where I was, it seemed quite poor and undeveloped. I've heard lovely things about Seoul, but big cities and all the action they bring/have is not my thing.

As much as I love Kpop (which is clearly a lot) and would love to visit/vacation in S.Korea, I've heard enough bad things about the culture that leads me to answer this poll with Japan. I've heard much better things about Japanese culture, and I love anime as well.

I've never been to either country so my opinion could change on visiting, I know a little bit about both but probably a lot more about Korea, I've heard more bad stories from foreigners living in Japan than I have Korea though so I pick South Korea.

Yeah, he'll be there for a year now by himself - instead of 3 years with family. He's in the Barracks and doing fine

Individual people might be friendly though, no idea.

Silly enough, I had considered a development job in Japan, and after researching their toxic work culture, I declined. Definitely not feeling that whole "work yourself to death" thing.
