Technically the first day of summer is always the first Thursday after apr.18 (so 21.st this year I think), we don't really consider it summer because we're still drowning in snow.

snow has usually mostly dissipated by the end of may, so most consider June the first actual summer month, july has summer solstice, august sometimes starts getting chilly by the end of it.

Reykjavík/southern Iceland usually have a snow-less may though so maybe they consider may a summer month?

If you stayed in 30°c plus for a few months, you'd probably acclimatize pretty well to it, that process takes a while though. Same principle applies to extreme cold really.

Exactly, The average person does not take a vacation for 3+ months.

Here, 20° is about the ideal temp, hot enough that you don't have to wear anything* so you can get some colour, but still not too hot so you can still keep on working at close to maximum efficiency.

I regularly visit egypt because i have friends there. You acclimatize alot faster. Though we have hot and very hot days in austria too, so i guess it´s a bit easier for us.
