Why does Nova draw so much hatred?

Now....while Nova isn't an issue on her own, something that really annoys me is this:

When the enemy team gets both a Nova AND a Zeratul and your team has no hard-counter to them (such as Tassadar).

Those two working together (which they usually end up doing in QM. Very often they roam together and just pick off your assassins or supports) can vaporize pretty much anyone in a quick one-two hit (Zera runs in and cleaves/bombs you while Nova snipes) off the playing field and ensure team fights are never 5v5.

MM needs to try and balance out stealthies, keep it one per side imo.

The only way to really counter that is roll a warrior and go for high hp builds (Diablo works wonders for countering this duo).

You just need to use the fact that 2 of their players won't be actively laning to your advantage. Put two strong pushers and a healer in one lane and just push the shit out of that lane. You know that they will walk around together trying to gank people, so the solution is very simple: don't let them and just play like a pussy until you can deathball around the map.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like a stealthed unit shouldn't be able to dive past forts without being revealed. Cannons whatever, but forts?

if u know how to play her well, she is really good. Have to know how to deceive people really well when playing her, shes fragile, but she packs a punch.

Well the Core will expose them, but yeah you have a point. Keeps should detect stealths as well.

I think this captures the essence of why I hve such a dim view of Nova. People play her for the cheap kills imo*, spending all of a 3v3 brawl stealthed on the outside is acceptable in the rarest of occasions esp when it ends with them skulking off on 20% HP. Depending on who I'm playing it's a boon or a pain, the playstyle is so predictable once she makes her first appearance.

*If you aren't playing Nova for cheap kills fair enough.

Definitely not! You have to give them a way to threaten Murky and Abathur with those stealth classes. I love that they can't just park their shit next to a fort and know it's safe. No, it isn't, it shouldn't be. You should fucking worry if there's a Zeratul around if he's going to rip your egg a new one!

You know, as an aside, I instantly lose all respect and dismiss people that even just use the word "noob" in Mobas. It usually means you don't actually have any kind of logical argument or experience worth sharing. :P

If you're with her, then she's never really with you either. If she's good, then she's still off doing her own thing, making the game easier for you, yes, but not actually being part of the team. If she's bad, she may as well just afk out.

Nova is a suprice hero to take as last pick if its viable against the enemy teams combo.
Most people picking nova does so regardless of enemy team, some times even first pick nova and that makes our team lose the game on draft alone.

Really? I feel she does have a lot more burst than Zeratul. When I decloak with her, people die.

The nerfs to Zeratul were probably too extreme, he's now basically a walking VP cooldown. Nova is superior to him now for getting picks, but she's still inferior to any other burst assassin in that the others are viable doing other things where she is not.

I feel that Nova is deffo more viable lately then zeratul.
However, to get the most of out it - and what I feel did help in the teamplay part of nova, is the GP buff.

Ive seen a few novas recently and most go out to help TFs too becus of the extra stacks.

This however also means that if u play a Nova, you get alot more reliant on a support. Novas strength quickly drops if she cant get away.
Basicly, if u get one on the team, play around. Help her kill that target, help her get away and keep her health topped.

Late game yes, early game you want zeratul. Not much has changed if your team can play and not feed the enemy team early on Nova has now more burst after the zeratul nerf.

In QM you cant counter stealth via counter pick, and there is no other way to counter anything in HOTS.

You may have just gotten me to play this game again. One of the reasons I play dota is because I can do precisely that with some heroes.

I guess because she is a perma-stealth hero in a genre that perma-stealth doesn't really have much business existing. It's one thing to die because you were outplayed in a team fight. It's another to lose 3/4 of your health in half a second because a wild Nova/Zera appeared.

Nova has counters and at the end of the day is usually less effective against organized teams but it is easy to see why stealth heroes draw so much hate.

Nova is my favourite character and I am very good with her.

However, I will never select her in a ranked game and I get pissed if someone else does.

She's easy (but annoying) to play against.
