The best place for this information is in the WW guide thread. You're asking as vague a question as possible at a time where opinions are running all over the place. If your looking at PvP then I think ArenaJunkies still keeps track of class representation, but I may be wrong. If you're looking at Raiding then WarcraftLogs shows you how each spec stacks up against one another on each difficulty and fight.

Not a lot to say. We're medium tier, mostly valuable because the raw amount of sustained cleave in the latter half of HFC, with very lacking single-target damage. Our defensives and off-utility are decent but we're nowhere near on the level of DKs with Mass Grip.

Gameplay wise the spec becomes ridiculously fun and hectic when you get the 4piece + class trinket, as they have a very strong interaction with eachother that basically guarantees you'll be GCD capped.

WW's place in PVP is weird. They're not really the burst powerhouse they used to be and are more suited to DoT / sustain cleaves right now, as with our 4set the way it is, haste/mastery Chi Explosion builds do a ridiculous amount for our survivability by just making us constantly take 20% less damage.

But basically the spec is fine, with its biggest problem being reliance on gimmicky mechanics. It's almost impossible to get a 'good' opener with the legendary ring + soul cap because of the sheer amount of RNG it takes to actually have TEB going before the ring even explodes, even with chi brew. Our damage is far too reliant on cleave for us to be competitive on pure single target fights (the most relevent of which is Fel Lord, which is sorta a joke)

WW monks were rather good for earlier in the tier before adds started getting 1 shot, now they're sort of average purely numerically, as you can see here https://www.warcraftlogs.com/statist...nt&timespan=60

Ww burst is fucking mental right now m8 fist of fury hits like a truck in pvp, up to 90k ticks, and we can easely hit 80-90k RSK crits

killing people in a FoF from full hp as ww dk hpally is not uncommon at all

ww monks are good in pvp atm, they are just kinda clunky to play

Burst part is true, the ignorant devs at Blizzard has increased WW damage drastically and the most recent pvp buff to RSK is just more icing on the top.

"WW being good in PvP" is a rather rash overstatement IMO and its because they are a clunky mess that they aren't largely represented at the top of arenas.

Burst depending on RNG sucks, period and makes it Chi Explosion a necessity to survive. Then there is the tiger palm and RSK debuff to keep up otherwise you'll deal far less dmg. Missing FoF is extremely punishing as well (which happens often). Not to mention how difficult it can be to land FoF on a moving target with a bit of latency. Our gap closer requires timing unlike charge/deathgrip.
And then theres the survival part which primarily consists of running away (which we excel at) and Touch of Karma (which can be removed by pala bubbles and Ice block). If you are caught without TeB up and ToK is on CD and you don't have an escape route planned, you're pretty much dead.

Of course once you somewhat master the clumsiness of WW it feels somewhat rewarding but it also makes you question yourself whether or not it would have been easier to just roll fotm feral instead.

As I said previously, there's nothing good that can come from this thread. There are numerous places to get information on how Monks are in pvp and pve. Threads like these always devolve into arguments.
