My question to you sir is do you agree with this photo? Cause that's before the internet.

Nonsense...
It's still only a select group of people that visit these (obscure) social platforms.

The fact that only 4chan shows a mean stance makes this unbelievable. All those sites taught me that everyone is worse than you think.
X
No it should be:
Google: Taught me about pornography
Tumblr: taught me about pornography
Youtube: Taught me to laugh at people getting hit in the nuts and animals doing stuff.
Deviantart: taught me pornography doesn't need to have actual people in it.
Facebook: Taught me to add people I don't know as friends so I can complete something in a game.
The only thing twitter taught is the world of cultures will never be ready to share opinions.
DeviantArt made me aspire to be a better photographer, and finally break my anxiety over purchasing a DSLR for the first time.
Facebook taught me to make friends? Lol - I just use to contact two of my cousins who live abroad.
Youtube+Netflix taught me a £30 TV subscription isn't worth it for me.
Google is Google.
I user twitter for transport and business news.
I don't use any of the other sites listed.

This says it most appropriately I think.
The internet has taught many the wrong notion that their ignorance is acceptable if there are other as ignorant or misinformed as themselves.
Not sure what generaltion we are talking about.. but kids from the late 90's early 20's.. while they have had computer and internet through it all.. and use social media.. they are fucking dumb when it comes to actually really using a computer.. They know a browser.. and they know apps on a tablet or phone.. but give them a PC and, withen a month it will be full of adware and shit, because they don't even know what to do in a wizard

I grew up before internet. didn't get decent acess to it until I was just out of my teens. and let me tell you... its a freaking godsent. internet allows me to keep in touch with my former classmates that are now scattered all over the world. it allows me to order supplies that I would otherwise have no acess to. it allows me to do amazing amounts of research. whenever I feel like a new craft project - as much as I adore my physical book collection, I still go online and make a search for tutorials etc. it lets me watch TV shows and movies on MY time instead of missing episodes (not to mention being able to get up to grab a drink, or go to the bathroom or just general taking of the break - and before you say anything about DVR - it has a LOT more limitations than online streaming) it allows me to meet people with common interests across the world - people I would have no way of meeting before. it allows me to send long, involved letters complete with pictures (photographs etc) that recipient will be able to read in minutes instead of days (or weeks) not to mention e-mails don't get lost as easily as snail mail, and if you save them to sent folder - you can just resend it, instead of losing all that writing and all those images. it allows me to reach so many people with my creativity, share with them, see their creativity in return. I can learn languages easier. I can look at art from the museums in the countries I can't go to in a forseeable future - from the comfort of my own home.
and I can keep going. I was born before internet. I grew up when it was in infancy. I went to college when we were still using IRC chat rooms and geocities for creating personal pages. I have experienced having to pay per minute when calling to another country and not seeing the face of the person you are talking to, and that oh so memorable sound of dialup modem. as well as having to get off the internet, because someone in the house needs to use the phone. I remember searching through cards in dewy decimal system when trying to find a reference I needed instead of looking it up via computerized system at the library. I remember waiting for my tern to use the slide viewer for those old references that were scanned in, to preserve the originals (and now I can just go online and see the pages without waiting or having to look through something very similar to a microscope in its operation)
did we lose some things with so much being online now? maybe? but we gained so. much. more.
Doubt many of you even realize that G-OT is worse than 4chan in a lot of ways.
Warcraft 3 taught me how to type faster. Mostly to insult people.
Anyway, anyone who can't tell the 4chan part was added (most likely BY 4chan) needs to get out more. It's a jab at the pretense of the original picture and 4chan's community.
