the sad fact is that in the real world that happens rarely. Obviously if someone has a very exclusive skill which is rare then employers will compete to employ that person, agreed. But average skilled labour doesnt generate much competition from employers. Employers actually pay as little as possible for skills.
So in the real world when 'the people' are suffering financially the job market becomes an employers dream... skilled workers will work for less and less just to get a job.
So in this time of austerity skilled workers are working for much less than theyre worth.
