    upgrade advice

my computer is many years out of date. core 2 duo, horrible gpu. i need advice on what to get for cpu, mobo and ram. i will be reusing my mid-tower case, psu (750 watt) and plan on getting the gtx 1070. i would like to primarily play wow, overwatch, the division, doom. would a high end i5 or low to mid i7 be best? looking to spend around $650 for the 3 components (cpu, mobo and ram).
    thanks for your helps

A 6600K would be perfect for you, 16GB of DDR4 Ram.

edit: forgot these don't come with heatsinks, you will need something like a 212 EVO.

Thanks. And you think the i5 will be good enough?

That CPU is more than enough for games, especially if you OC it, which really isn't hard at all, as long as you have a good cooler.

Nah. Anything more than 16 isn't utilized for strictly gaming at the moment.

More than 8 to be honest... We recommend 16 because it's cheap and future-proofing...
