Is this God's Grand Design?

Does anyone else sometimes step back to look at the bigger picture of all the things going on in the world and think "human beings are some cruel, greed filled, un-sharing bastards" and there really is no hope for them at all. Sometimes I think that the universe would be far better off if a giant asteroid slammed into the earth and burnt its surface to a cinder. Then I think about God and his "grand design." If the world and societies, as they currently are, are part of Gods "grand design," then I am not very impressed and I honestly don't want to be part this awful shitty mess he has made.
