I think a lot of game companies, partictularly japanese ones, have grown arrogant from their success in the 90s/early 2000s.

Look at the FF7 remake. All people wanted was a up to date graphics remake of the game with the same formula.

What do they get? Episodic cliche action-orienated COD bullshit.
