Is Blizzard serious about Order Hall missions?

Garrison missions were the worst thing in WoD. Order Hall missions are literally the same thing, with the addition of troops. Being rid of garrison missions was the best thing about WoD ending. And now they shove the exact same thing down our throat for another expansion. Fuck you Blizzard.

You have to do one every few days or so. You don't have to do the ones not tied with the story of your order hall.

I heard from a very reliable source (trade chat in Dalaran) that they will only have a few missions available at a time too, not 20+.

You might want to look up the word "literal", as Class Order Halls are nothing like the Garrison missions of the past. You need to spend maybe 1 minute every couple of days, resources get used up (partially) and they don’t provide infinite amounts of gold for not playing.
Now let’s get back to the fact that the expansion is out for little over a day, and that you’re nowhere near a point where you could judge this feature yet.

Having to further hunt down my Warchief was the worst part of WoD.

    Okay, chap.

When you start feeling forced to send out 30 missions per day on every alt, let me know. When you feel like Order Hall missions is the only thing worth doing in Legion outside of raiding when it comes to progression, you may have a point.

Missions are a very nice side-thing, something you know is progressing WHILE DOING SOMETHING ELSE INGAME, or hell, maybe look forward when you come home from work or whatever. WoDs missions was no problem until we realized that it took at most 2 weeks in WoD until the only thing to do was raiding or sending missions by pressing a bunch of [100%] buttons in an addon interface.

But I know, context and putting things into a bigger perspective is very hard.

They will become less and less relevent as time goes on. After a few weeks you'll no longer have need of the rewards from most of them.

Uh.... they're exactly like garrison missions, aside from being less frequent in nature.

What I've seen of them, they're toned down a lot from what garrisons could become, in terms of number of followers and the frequency you need to send them out. If you hate it so much, just ignore it? Sure your character will be gimped but hey, at least the stuff is no longer "shoved down your throat".

Another typical shitpost. They'll be much fewer missions and they won't feel nearly as obligatory as before.

Can't win with this community at all.

I like them. You're only ever going to have five champions with relevant abilities, which means that you have to pick and choose which missions you want to prioritize, rather than just going 'I'm gonna do all the ones with meaningful rewards because I'm swimming in followers anyway'. Makes the whole thing feel more interesting.

And yeah, it's still largely optional. There's a few quest related missions, but those take eight to twelve hours to complete, so they're just fire and forget while you do other stuff. The rest... Meh? Artifact power is nice, but there's loads of sources for that. Same for gold. Maybe there's a few rare ones that unlock cool rewards?

You are overreacting on something so minor... Seriously? You don't even get as many followers, or missions. And some of the missions you have to do yourself.

But I guess you haven't gotten so far.

I like them, even due to the fact that you have to do some management, you don't have many troops to handle.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

I like that the defense so far has mostly been "Your an idiot! This time, you have to do the terrible thing less often! Why would you complain about the terrible thing!".
Cant really agree with "less obligatory" either so far - command table nonsense is unavoidably built into your quest progression and offers endgame rewards. It really just feels like they could add mandatory pet battles to get your next artifact trait any time now. But hey .. maybe it will not be THAT many pet battles.
On the positive side, there seems to be a ton of other ways to get the same endgame stuff. So maybe at some point you can really keep the tableling to a minimum.

Garrison missions were not the worst thing in WoD. The worst thing in WoD was the absence of any other meaningful content besides garrison missions and raids.

I wanna do none of them every few days, I had enough of that shit in WoD after a week.

Fine, quit then. Why play a game you don't enjoy ?

Give us a break. We really don't care about your not liking a micro feature in a game... At all

You can't honestly believe that. Nothing like garrison missions? You send followers on missions, who have a certain chance of being successful, and they bring back stuff for you and earn experience. It's even the same fucking menu with the same fucking art. It's literally the same. They even integrated ship missions with troops.

I don't give a shit about sending out 30 missions a day or just 1.

1 is enough to make me puke.

I don't want to waste time on flight paths, which are, incidentally, way more time consuming than mandatory missions are, yet you don't see me complaining either.

Are you honestly asking why I don't quit simply because one feature is pissing me off? Who said I don't enjoy the game? I don't enjoy garrison missions 2.0 is all.
