7.1.5 MM Hunter rotation for a friend.

    Hey guys...
So just a quick background, me and my friend went on a trip for a month. During this time, obviously, 7.1.5 hit.
Yesterday while raiding, he saw that while raiding, he wasn't up top like usually was prior to this patch.

He said he's read the new rotation guides and such but he's been upset about it.

Can someone just give me an explain like I'm five explanation of the new MM rotation so I can go over it with him.
I've read the guide but a simple break down would be amazing.

    Thanks in advance fellas.

Legion hunter gameplay is not hard. If you're too lazy to read a guide or want a gameplay that can be summarized in two lines, play an ARPG.

Choose one of the popular talent builds (Expl/piercing (membuild) or LnL/PS/Trick) and then read the opener and rotation for those talents on the IV guide.

Memebuild is what you use if you want to do high AOE dmg (think skorp, aluriel, M+, etc). With this build your TS usage would preferably be used during an add phase or on trash in M+. You would pop TS > Multi > MS > PS > Expl > Multi > MS > Multi > MS onward. If you pop TS on single target then you would just replace Multi with Arc shot. For your sustained ST rotation there is no benefit to delaying your AiS so this simplifies the rotation a lot. This build is boring and clunky in my opinion, but does some pretty insane dmg any time there are multiple targets.

LnL/PS/Trick is the single target build, but also has about 75% of the AOE dmg that the memebuild has. In this build you would still get a lot of use out of using TS on add phases and trash in M+, but your rotation would like a little different. TS > Multi > MS > if no marking targets proc, use AiS until it procs > if MT procs use Multi > MS. Basically with Trickshot your AiS split dmg to all vulnerable targets so it's worth using when you can, but not at the expense of delaying MS. If you have the Legendary MM belt, this build becomes even more effective because your Multis buff your AiS dmg so towards the end of the TS window you can throw a multi-target vuln AiS that crits for 5-6M and then splits 30% of that dmg to the whole pile, thanks to Patient Sniper. Single target rotation for this build relies heavily on maximizing your AiS towards the later portion of your Vuln window (due to Patient Sniper). Your single target rotation would like something like WB (prepull) > TS > AiS > AiS > AiS > Arc > MS > AiS , etc... without TS it would look like Arc > MS > Arc > AiS > AiS > Arc > Arc > MS > Arc > AiS > AiS, etc... With this build the Arc after you use MS is to 1. build a little more focus, and 2. to push your next 2 AiS into the latter stage of vuln to take advantage of Patient Sniper. If you find yourself focus starved, use a few Arc shots after your MS, just ensure that you get 1 good AiS right at the end of vuln.

If you really wanted to focus on single target you could do the above build. Be aware that True Aim has terrible synergy with Trickshot when it comes to AOE, so it is advisable to use LnL if there will be any usage of the AOE portion of the Trickshot talent.

This is all literally covered in the IV guide previous posters pointed you to, but this spells it out for you.
