Ele bonus: Absolutely hate it. Great DPS increase but makes Primal ele/Ascendance mandatory. 7.1.5 gameplay was amazing with 3 different playstyles, how hard is it to make a set bonus that doesn't mess with talent balance?
Enhance bonus: I'm really sorry enhancers, it looks like complete garbage lol

HEROES NEVER DIE
Just as a reference, this does not mandate PE. The SEL team has already done more than a little bit of testing with T20 set bonuses (and 52 traits, so up to 1 point in Concordance) in sims and preliminary findings indicate that PE is still a very clear loss even with the T20 set bonuses. Same runs indicated that each of the 3 base specs were within 1% or so of each other.
There is a rather interesting case though where PE + SE can be the best talent set (or at the very least equal with EB/LMT) on 3 targets.

I love arguing! BRING ON THE TROLLS!

This is good news, however you have to keep in mind that while the three specs might be very close in theory, the PE/Ascendance rotation is the easiest in practice. I think the Icefury build should be simming 2-3% higher than the other two just because of how hard it is to actually execute.
HEROES NEVER DIE
without t19 4p we will be starved for SB procs again, theoretically we can a couple crit buff cycles with no SS procs, so lower crit and less CL buffs. it just seems like this was designed over the t19 bonuses being baseline. we would also have to farm mythic NH for titanforge procs to have t19 gear to match base ToS gear, and without 4p t19 we dont even use SS spam spec. but hey, at least theres actually good enhance relics in this raid

since 1st page of this thread, everybody knows that you would need t19 to be any good with t20. AND THATS BAD, everybody knows that.
Its pointless reminding such thing every day since mid february.
Yeah they said its not finnal back then. Yet nothing changed for now and i doubt it will.
Has anyone given thought to my comments regarding the Enhance tier set bonuses? Or actually tested it on PTR?
T20 2set: Crash Lightning increases your critical strike chance by 5% for 16 sec.
T20 4set: Stormstrike critical strikes increase the damage of your next Crash Lightning by 30%, stacking up to 10 times.
These two contradict each other. If we are to assume that CL will consume the buff, and we will want to CL every 16sec or so... then we will never get even close to 10 stacks of the buff. I wonder if the MH and OH hits for SS count seperate, so if both crit then does that count as 2 stacks? If we are very lucky we might get 10 stacks in 20 sec, but esp without the T19 2 set that will be kinda rare.
I have also thought that maybe the stacks are only consumed one at a time. So if I have 10 stacks, it does not make my next CL do 300% more damage, just 30% and I go down to 9 stacks. Or maybe the buff doesn't get consumed at all and just keeps stacking to 10 where it caps and either stays that way or the duration of buff will not be refreshed, falls off, and we start back from 1. Having 300% CL damage for too long will prob be OP tho so I doubt it, but that kind of ramp up has been seen before.
Either way... I don't like em. I do think we need some better cleave/aoe buffs and having set bonuses address that is a good idea but this seems like a poor way to do it.
Elemental T20: This focus on PE is misplaced. The bulk of the damage increase comes from flameshock. 100% crit, 75% extra damage + the buff we got to crit damage. Fire elemental damage will damage increase caps out at 100% up time which will happen quite often where flame shocks damage increase caps out at total number of targets which is why this bonus will scale crazy in council type fights. Even on a worst case scenario fight like krosus you get a greater damage increase from that one flameshock vs elemental.
Its also why i am quite skeptical about sims right now. Some specs are hard to capture in sims because you can game the system and this is clearly one. From one encounter to another we will be looking for ways to get uptime close to 100% or up for a critical moment, it could mean delaying use for some time in to fight etc, dotting things that would otherwise not make sense to dot etc.
Amen!! We have been forced into using PE for SO long now until recently. EoTE makes our spec more fun and engaging, while PE is just boring and doesn't really add any flavor to the game play.
I am happy with the state of Ele right now overall, but using PE again is going to feel like a step backwards.
5 pages and nobody has said a thing about resto?
Resto one seems good to me, if not a bit boring. HR is already getting a buff from traits, so this will make HR get double buffed. It does seem a bit unreliable and chance based... either the 10% chance on heals or via crit, and random procs aren't always preferred for healing but in this case it prob not a big deal. We already prefer crit so have decent chance for Riptide to crit already so between that and the 10% chance on all heals we will prob have alot of super buffed HR's.
I would have preferred something a bit more diverse... since traits already buffed HR they could have focused on CHL or something else here, but that's just a nitpick really. They got good synergy with each other and our crit (unlike Enhance's) so I can't complain.
Enh: Dmg boost, doesn't change rotation or build choice. Boring.
Ele: Might be cool on cleave but any other situation it's reaaly bad... especially when it forces clunkly talents.
Resto: lol rng.
