However it shows that 10 stacks is possible just fine, which somewhat answers my question -- how high are people usually taking the buff.

In our first kill we first attempted to let it go up to 10, but then we realized it was just risky with no benefit to go that high, we would anyhow require three phases. So we went with 8 stacks, and we also remained so long in the slow phase that our CDs (we have 3 rdruid, so here just 2 minute on tranq) were up again for the final phase.

We did 8 on our first prog kills and only went to 10 a few weeks after.
