Are you a fan of this chain restaurant?

They make their dishes seem so scrumptious on TV but when I actually go in and order something, it really isn't that great.

Yet at the same time, it seems like quite a popular chain restaurant. What gives?

Never tried it since the selection of American fastfood restaurants are woefully limited in Denmark.

That said I am not a fan of seafood so I probably wouldn't like it.

I like the shrimp fest it's the only time we go there. The food is not all that great. Legal seafood and bonefish grill are chains with better seafood.


Actually it's "endless shrimp" at red lobster we go to.

What's the middle middle class go for ?

If they're smart? They find local places that for the same price serve food with actual flavor. If they're stupid? Some soulless chain restaurant full of employees that are treated like shit so guess how they treat your food and dining experience.

Sometimes you go to a smaller town and you can either choose the sketchy local restaurant or the reliable chain restaurant. No shame in that.

I am a seafood lover. Red Lobster is gross. Not too long ago there was a news story in the area about them putting fake lobster in their lobster bisque. They tested the DNA of the meat and learned it was fake in quite a few of their restaurants. Seafood is a big part of regional cuisine here (DC, MD, VA...the Chesapeake) and much of what they serve is just awful tasting. They do alright for the basics, like if you just want a lobster or some oysters at the bar. But otherwise, there are carryouts here with better seafood.

Sometimes you go to a smaller town and you can either choose the sketchy local restaurant or the reliable chain restaurant. No shame in that.

If the town is so small and shitty all the local restaurants are sketchy, I wouldn't be there.

I've been to the U.S. a few times and never actually been to a RL despite hearing generally positive things about them. Last time we were in Orlando though we ate at an Olive Garden (on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway near the 429 exit) instead because it had better reviews.

I went a lot as a kid, always got the same thing since i'm not adventurous with my food. The popcorn shrimp and biscuits are great.
