    expansion after WLK

hey i'm new at the forums, i been reading the site for quite a while though, so hi

maybe this is a useless post but what's else to do at monday night......

i was wondering, what do you guys think the next expansion after WLK will be? or do you think they will stop making expansions?

i myself is very convinced that they will make an expansion with The Emerald Dream in maybe 2010 where you'd be able to go to like lvl 120 or something, maybe little less, what do you guys think?
(i'm no expert on Warcraft lore, but i've been told that The Emerald Dream is 'the old' azeroth, so i thought they might make some kind of portal into the old azeroth where you'd be able to raise alot of levels)

but maybe that's just me who's very bored this evening
    what are you oppinions

    Re: expansion after WLK

I've heard Blizzard is working on a next-gen MMO which is currently known as 'Project Hydra'.

So I don't know really, perhaps they'll keep making expansions but slower than with TBC -> WotLK.

As kaemi said i think its more likely they will introduce a new MMO

Emerald dream is most likely to be a patch, like adding black temple or somthing. It will probably be a raid instance, or a set of raid instances

    Re: expansion after WLK

I was under the impression that they were, you know, still going to keep WoW around, despite releasing a new/another MMO. Especially considering they're hiring a brand new team for Hydra. -shrug-

If I'm not mistaken, the blues also confirmed this on the forums.

    Re: expansion after WLK

I'm thinking something to do with the Emerald Dream, with the new Hero Class Warden. (would be Demon Hunter but after patch 2.4 there wont be many demons left I presume and Illidan would be the teacher) The Warden's will be taught my Maiev 9just like Death Knights are taught by Arthas). and the new profession being Fletching (or someithng of the sorts, which allows you to make bows, staves, arrows and other wooden things.) Herbalism would be expanded to allow you to get certain special wood from trees. Level Cap raised to 90 too

Either That or something to do with The Great Sea and The Old Gods. With Swimming Mounts (available at 90, non epic mount training = 5000g, epic mount training = 25000g.) New Hero Class / Proffesion etc. have something to do with water. Better water mechanics, with realistic graphics, reflections and you go at different speeds depending on the current. Level Cap raised to 90

I don't think they will raise caps by a huge amount. I think the cap will hit 100 before we see it stop being raised. Blizzard creates more trouble with over stacking stats through lvl progression anyways, which is why we see game mechanic correction take place with "new" stats like armor pen and spell pen and expertise rating. Theoretically they could release an expansion as often as they come up with lore to feed us. The storyline as it stands leaves several avenues to be explorered.I see CoT being one device they are more than likely going to implement in every expansion from here on out for additional depth to the story developement.

what I would like to know is where is blizz going to take pvp with each expansion...

    Re: expansion after WLK

WoW is still in its prime. they arnt gonna biff it for another MMO >.<. Project Hydra is all speculation. It could be as little as designing the new hydra model for WotLK. I expect to see atleast 4 x-pacs, so the level cap is 100.

9 Locations, 1 area suitable for a neutral city, 2 opposing factions (naga makrura) , zone with horrors that both factions are scared to see with the coolest name (Drowned Reaches), and Queen Azshara, quite possibly the most powerful sorcerer ever. 2-3 possible raid zones, lots of instance areas, and lots of area to explore. Would be a great focus for an expansion.

I agree, so I'm going to bump it again saying so to bump it to the front page.
