[PvP spec] COMBAT making a comeback in pvp

    http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=f0ebRrZMhqbbVx0bGRidAo

The only reason I think it's somewhat viable is the fact that you get access to "Stay of Execution", 30% reduced duration of stuns, deadly throw (a chance to use better dps PvE gloves instead of the pvp ones), and most importantly, prey on the weak and murder spree.

Think of this in a 2v2 situation, against, say, a warrior/druid (actually any team). Get them separated more than 10 yards apart, or perhaps, they're not standing next to each other from the very beginning. Whoever you open up on, they are already below your health percentage wise, and they're stunned from kidney shot. As soon as you throw your kidney shot on them, activate murder spree. 25% increased crit damage, 5 assaults with both weapons every half a second, and they can't do anything about it. Even if they trinket you will still be attacking them.

All melee attacks would have a 10% chance to daze the target, so if RNG is on your side, you can get away, restealth (or vanish) before the other player can do anything to you. Ideally the target would be dead.

Combat spec doesnt seem bad, but with my rogue I'd rather play that kind of spec :

    http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=f0efRegsiroArszZVM

The high dmg of the mutilate spec, with impressive new talents (which I hope they won't be changed as soon as Wotlk begins...) will make this, for me, the most interesting spec for 2v2 and 3v3.

Imagine : with Deadly Brew, helped by Vile Poisons and Improved Poisons, you will keep your target afflicted by Crippling, Wounding and Mind-numbing poisons all fight long. And if you're facing a shaman, druid or pally, Infectious Poisons will make all those nearly undispellable if they're focused, allowing interesting switches if they're not.

And with Assassination spec, poisons talents are not the only interesting ones : Turn the Tables, Blood Spatter and Focused Attacks are all very interesting for long fights.

But the best talent is the last one, Hunger For Blood : rogues will be able to dispel Magic and Bleeding effects of any opponent for no energy cost, with no Cd and with 15% more damage all fight long : that makes, for me, Rogues imba, particularly agaisnt Warlocks, who will only be able to keep their curse up on them.

So, combat spec, why not for Double Dps team, but for the rest, I'd prefer Assassination

i think muti will be better than combat for pvp, the 51pt is just godly for pvp as it is atm.

The 51 pt is nice to kill bleeds, but deadly brew is really quite powerful in pvp.

    I was thinking http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=fMe...0bZGcV0rVzxMzR
Swords + Poisons + Blade Flurry + AR = Dead everything
What do you think about the math?

    Murder spree in STV

Note to self: Get alts through STV before WotLK.

    Nice work ,realy nice work!
According to all that info you gathered the assassins build has a great potential in PvP, but also in PvE.Combat specc is realy good to pve no doub it, but a think the assassins build is going to be a great alternative.I dont want change the topic so maybe i will go for this to pvp ---> http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?...00000000000000

    What do you think?

your really have to have combat potency for straight energy returns and damage added onto the sinisters or mutilate+puncturing wounds crit potential to get the seal fate going the yellow damage would nee to be made up for by those poisons.

Prey on the weak : Your normal melee critical strikes bla bla bla

Murder Spree must be a special attack i guess (doing some yellow damages).

actually i dont think imp throw talent is for able to equip better gloves, im pretty confident pvp gloves will lose that equip bonus since its been kind a op the day they introduced it

I highly doubt your claim that it would be removed. All the pvp gloves on any class have something special.

Murder Spree is a wicked talent, even if it isn't meant for pvp this talent will make short work of a caster. Overall I think that assassination will be the newest pvp spec for most rogues out there. Sub will still be better when it comes to survivability but Shadow Dance is not as good as people think it is, and they will soon realize this.

yeah but rogue bonus is by far the best one, making skill in to something totally else compared to other classes who got CD and cost reduces making it almost glyph like.

You could pull off some very nice moves and crits with the Cold Blood - Shadowstep - Prep combo. But I highly doubt that would be a diamond spec. In my opinion If you're going to put that many points into sub, go for Shadow Dance. Those 4 extra stealths you get are very underrated on these boards and even the wow forums but holy cow they will save lives. That extra stun to interupt a spell, that extra garrote to silence a caster and put on a dot aswell, that extra ambush if you're daggers or use a stealth/dagger swap macro, that extra Premeditation if you didn't bother using it right off the bat. You can even use it to get away, it's practically a second vanish.

Imo, we need a new stealth move, maybe a move we can use without having to use a dagger that puts a mana/rage/energy drain on the target? Things like this would make Shadow Dance better because right now for a sword or mace rogue there's only really need for 2 of those 4 restealths. They could call this move "puncture" or something.

    Puncture
40 Energy, Melee range, 1 minute cooldown
    Requires stealth, requires poisons

Puncture the targets body and veins causing the poison off of your weapon to seep into the bloodstream. The targets mana, rage, energy rapidly decreases by 80 mana, 5 rage, 2 energy every 2 seconds for 12 seconds. The amount decreased in increased by attack power.

Something like this would make it soooo much better. But getting back on topic, nice spec but I say go the full way down the sub tree.

Re: [PvP spec] COMBAT making a comeback in pvp

Having looked at how op that 51 point Ass talent is, anyone who thinks it will make it through beta without a thorough battering with the nerf bat is sorely mistaken.

Making a Rogue immune to dots is not going to happen.

    Enjoy it while you can.
