Best Ele Build

Now when I look at the Ele build there r various ways we can do this regarding pve... either we split it like this:

gaining the benefit of more crit % and also gaining tidal force as excellent back up or emergency healing helping in pve n pvp

which sacrifices crit % for range n reduce cd on shocks

Does anybody hav any view on this or builds they wish to propose?

The first would be better for straight PvE. There are a couple things i'd change, like putting points into totemic focus rather than imp healing wave, as you'll never be casting it. Call of flame may be worth picking up now, as Lava burst is an assured part of our rotation. For PvE you don't need points in reverb, shocks are only used occasionally in PvE, so you'll pretty much never run up against a CD. On the second build you may try putting some points in Enhancement for better WS regen while grinding and 10% more int. Aside from totemic focus, the first tier resto talents are pretty useless for ele now. Putting some in enh also frees up some space for a couple PvP talents, which are always nice for BGs once in a while.

elemental shamans dont realy have a reason to spend points in the resto tree anymore.
if its for 5% more crit. yeah great when leveling but when you get near high end stuff you should be able to get 25% crit chance flat (or more even) without talents/buffs.
most of the lower tier elemental talents are realy good for both PvP and PvE.

if you like doing a little bit of both then i sugjest something along the line of.

reverberation isnt so good.
frost shock and flame shocks effects last longer then the cooldown already is and have no DR.
and the interupt of earthshock isnt even long enough for enemys casters to notice theyve been hit by it.
and for DPS? your better of spamming LB, with the changes to eye of the storm and al the changes to spell pushback in general.

more int and improved GW, always nice to have.

Depending on how good lava burst actually works, and if they ever change the range on it and flame shock, i still think your better of using the rest of your points in resto. Be nice if i was on the beta >(

Or if you dont mind having no spell pushback, since weve never really had it before, take your points out of eye of the storm, and place them else where.

Thunderstorm pvp? Well the damage part and knockback yes, but it also restores 5% mana with only a 45 sec CD. Use properly sounds like great mana return to me.

get those 3 points out of the astral shift nonsense and stick them in enhancing totems.
15% on the FT totem is nicer to have then that (FT totmen beeing the new +spellpower totem in wotlk)

the 5 points from reverberation could easily go into unrelenting storms or elemental shields / warding

hey guys, dont forget, than Convection (tier 1 talent, reducing mana one) is only 3/3, mmo talents somehow dont include that, but its in beta and in official calc.

anyway, im still wondering if MD MQ spec wont be more powerfull in entry level raids, new talent for LB is fine, but it doesnt surpass 1.0 coef anyway, so i was wondering how much SP would 28 enha build get with all AP buffs here


base AP - hard to say at 80, but now i have like 350, i would assume its gonna be 400 +-

motw - talented 51 +str, agi = 102 AP
SoE talented - 99 +str, agi = 198 AP
battleshout talented - 687 AP
talented BoM - 525 AP

Arcane Intelect - 60 int - 60 AP
motw - 51 int - 51 AP


BoK = +10% stats (100 str, 60 agi, 600 int at 80 +- imo)
glyph = +3% AP
sham. rage = +10% AP

so, with all AP buffs 2313 AP, with unglyphed BoK +119 = 2432
2432 x 1,13 = 2748 AP
2748 * 0,3 (MQ) = 824 Spellpower

im sure i forgot some AP buff and by numbers of base str/agi/AP arent correct, its just estimate, int however is with gear, witohut buffs

now, is it worth to loose SEaF and Lavaflows and prolly 5% crit from resto from pve PoV to get 824 SP(585 added damage on LB, noncrit ofc)? id say so, atleast in entry level 25mans, its pretty huge number

just my 2cents but i think with all the changes they are making to shocks that they may become more utilized, already with talents we can have an earthshock at LB distance and who knows what with Glyphs from inscription, plus the potential of another new shock i definitely think we shouldent be ruling out the use of the shock in the elementals rotation yet
