Max honor in Wintergrasp?

Dailies aside, do you guys find that you get more honor in a max raid or going solo and trying to kill people yourselves?

Do you get more honor from hanging around the fortress, or trying to complete objectives on the fringe?

I've had a few WGs where I've made 5k+ honor it seems, but some where I only make 1k or so. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Destroying towers gives you more honor, same as in AV
I'd recommend teaming up with some friends and tank rushing the towers if you want honor, you can usually just about get all of them down in time on the offensive and 1-2 down on the defensive
