The added expertise will only be on your OH. I believe your character sheet will split expertise into 2 numbers, kind of like how it does with weapon speed. It would look like 26/31 or something.Originally Posted by Cl4ymore

that´s right. in other words: unless you have two axes the racial is worth shit ^^
also yogg-sarons axe is higher in dps than AD, but lower than CG. so unless you´re able to get a good axe for mainhand toping the saw you have to forget about the racial bonus

Blizzard have said it's intentional,
the yogg10 axe is even worse than the hardmode council10 fist from the same instance.
Yogg is the same ilvl as the rest of the instance,
It's not like naxx where KT was higher ilvl than the rest.
Only algalon and hardmodes drop higher ilvl than the normal bosses.
This is true to 10man and 25.
oh my bad i thought that that axe dropped off 25m Yogg

I always thought Blizzard should have impelemented a weapon token system. You get a piece of rare metal from bosses which you can take to a Grandmaster Blacksmith NPC or player for weapons (recipes can be discovered similar to Alchemy recipes or found off of bosses kinda like recipes drop now). The metal would be a certain size according to what it can be crafted to. It'd include weapon speed, damage range, and preset stats for each size. It would help itemization with hybrid classes that recieve Expertise from weapons. I do get tired of having to equip my Orc Shaman with maces and fist weapons that are hard to come by.

This has just been discovered as drop from Yogg-Saron - 10-Man:

It's a one-hand 2.6 speed axe with ilvl 219.
