Definition of Ret (just a casual observation)

Alright, so this is pretty casual I just had somthing quick and fun to share. I recently was having a look at the Japanese word "Kamikaze" When I found that it translates to Divine Wind. Divine Storm = Divine Wind EXCEPT ITS WORSE CUS IT'S A STORM. I guess this means blizzard knows they designed the class around being a straight up Kamikaze faceroll nuke spec.

    And we stay pissed off....
    For fricken ever....

And when we get scared.... We bubble....

But we're still pissed off... and we'll be back in 12 seconds to discuss why scaring us was a bad idea...

Then... we pull aggro at 2% and die right before the boss does.
Quite often, the difference between an idiot and a genius is simply a matter of success rate.

No. Kami means 'divine', 'god'. Kaze means, as you said, wind. So we get a total of 'divine wind'. Which first dates back into the early years of Japan when Korea wanted to invade, and the thunderstrom combined with a hurricane sank all the Korean ships, thus foiling the invasion and Japan emerged victorious.

There's a bit of a history lesson for you.

What has history to do with the definition of the word kami?

    and btw, from wiki:

"Kami may, at its root, simply mean 'spirit', or an aspect of spirituality"

I would have agreed, but we don't do enough single target dps atm to pull.

Remember before the change to fanatism ? If we didn't have BoS we'd pull aggro like that while still doing lowish dps. Good times :P

It is most likely when the word was used for the first time.

you are mostly correct, but it was not korea. it was kublai khan and his mongol fleet.

not trying to be crazy about accuracy, but just thinking about all the people that come to MMO for a history lesson

It's not that simple...When one says they're ret they're really saying they're Irish. Why? Their rage bar is blue and they start a fight pissed. When they're no longer angry give em a drink and they're angry again.
