Thorim help (25 normal) needed

We have spent the last 3 weeks wiping on this bad boy, I don't know if it is group make up, players just not good enough or just bad luck but we just can not get past him.

Here is tonights breakdown of what we have.

Tanks:
2X Warrior
1X Feral
1X Prot Pally (undergeared)

Healers
2X Paladin
2X Shammy
1X Priest (Disc I think, not sure)
1X Druid
We more than likely will ask another priest to switch into holy gear

Melee
2X Retri Paladin (One as backup tank if the Prot tank is too squishy but also undergeared for tank set)
1X DK (not sure of spec, she changes to what is needed)
1X Fury Warrior
1X Assis/Mut rogue

Casters
2X Moonkin
2X Shad priest
4X Mage (with one on backup)
We also have 2 Hunters, 2 Shammys (One Ele one Enchance) and another Warlock on standby (raids are first signed with some small changes)

The main thing I think we have a problem with is the raid breakdown for each area. what would you go with and any tips to help (we usually get about 30 seconds away from Phase 2 before the arena team gets overrun)

Switch to 2, max 3 tanks, a dps DK or warrior can tank the little adds in the arena

So have say our DK just AOEing and picking up mobs? or perhaps somelike my myself (Retri Pally) stick on Righteous fury and just AOE to pick up some mobs?

We use a trick in our gauntlet, being severely heavy on rogueds we have one spec 2/2 throwing specialisation. Meaning constant interrupts inside the gauntlet, will make your tanks lifes alot easier.

I personally haven't been inside the gauntlet so i couldn't tell you if said rogue spams or time's his fok. Hopefully someone will be able to describe more clearly. ^^

on our first thorim kills we used the following setup:

gauntlet:
1 tank
1-2 healer
around 6 dd (incl 2 mages)

just sheep the healers first and focus the rest, then kill the healers

arena
2 tanks
4-5 healers
lots of melee dd

everyone stands near the middle
1 tank picks up all the champions, the other one picks up the warbringers.
the small mobs are ignored by the tanks, they die pretty quick anyway
rogue in the arena just spam Fok
Fury Warriors cleave
Enhancement shaman focuses the caster mobs and purges the shield
retri AoE's as much as possible and helps with the caster mobs

not too hard if your tanks can handle 1-2 warbringes/champions

Thanks to everyone so far, what about the gauntlet? any ideas to help them?

In the arena you have to have rogues/warriors/MM hunters cycling disarms on the Champions, otherwise they WW and kill everyone.

Put a shaman and discpriest on the running part. A discpriest is great since u need instant heals. Before entering the room after the first miniboss, pull out the two mobs without entering it. Kill them, then the whole group moves up together! Do not aggro, everybody move up fast and engage the big one upstairs or adds keep spawning. Discpriest should use pain suppresion before the big dude get tanked since he will have quite a few adds on him and damage will be hard. So ps + spam heals and u should be okay.

For the arenapart, the best thing is to have aoe tanks, such as dk tank or prot pally works best. Having an extra tank for arena would work too if u get overrun because people die because they overaggro. If people die its because the tanks are not picking up aggro fast enough. Some tanks are just better at aggoying lots of adds then others.

The way i lead arena is, to say focus on the big champion first, then the small adds will come, and then everybody pops their aoe. The warbringer must be interupted by putting a rogue on it or he will cast hammer and do aoe dps which is nasty and will wipe raid if your healers arent keeping up. Basicly its a rotation of everyone single focus target the champion, small adds come tanks can get aggro meanwhile, then everyone pops aoe together and keep repeating this and u should have no problem.

The only way for your raid to die in arena is that u dont all stay grouped up in the middle. Not interupting the healerdude which aoe at bad times can cause deaths. People using too soon and tanks dont got aggro and people die. Everybody should focus target the champion for 4 seconds instead of using aoe or the small adds might aggro on them and kill them.

But yeah nobody should get aggro from mobs to be able to die, so u need to make sure people are aoeing at the right moments and single target when they should be. When they aoe when the big dude comes then they might take aggro and get killed.

So champions should be prio? that would explain why we were not having much luck, we had prio on the Evocers

Many thanks for the help, we downed him tonight and now starting on Mim
