    3.2 Epic Gemming

How would we DKs go about this?

should we use nightmare tear over the +10 str and +15 stam? since from nightmare we get str and agility, and we get ap buff indirectly through agility. but would nightmare tear work to activate the meta?

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

so having 2 nightmare tears = 2 purple gems so it activates my meta?

so i should replace my 2 sovereign +10 str +15 stam with 2 nightmare tears?

Nightmare Tears are Unique-Equipped. It will count as one red, blue, and yellow gem.

from what I hear you can have a nightmare tear and the sirens tear in your gear at the same time, but I don't know if that would be worth it over the str stam one.

well i forgot nightmares tear was any colour, so it would be better than 10 str and 15 stam, cuz the agility indirectly buffs ap, and it also adds crit.

So would 1 Nightmare Tear fulfill the requirements of a Relentless Earthsiege Diamond http://www.wowhead.com/?item=41398?

In that case, would a RED be a better Meta than Chaotic Skyflare Diamond since you have one more slot for strength?

    No.

If you have an item with 2 sockets, one blue and one red. You gem the red socket with a red gem and blue socket with a prismatic gem. The prismatic gem will then count as a blue gem.

    Ugh, I'm wrong, sorry.

I gemmed http://www.wowhead.com/?item=41398 with a nightmare tear and got the socket bonus. 1 nightmare tear covered all the requirements.

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

Prismatic gem counts as red, blue and yellow gem, it doesn't matter where you socket it since it's always the three gems.

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

It looks like relentless earthsiege diamond with one nightmare tear, strength gems everywhere else and orange gems as appropriate if socket bonuses are good enough is going to be the way to go.

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

so 2 nightmare tears can activate chatoci skyflare diamond?

  12. #12

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

You can't use two at the same time as they are unique equipped, but they are prismatic so you only need one to activate that gem anyway.

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

one nightmares tear activates chatoic skyflare diamond?

    if not it will be

    relentless eearthsiege diamond
    nightmares tear
    bold cardinal ruby

    vs.

    chaotic skyflare diamond
    nightmares tear
    soveriegn dreadstone

    whowins?

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

Relentless should come out ahead, I haven't run the numbers but 21 crit rating shouldn't be enough better than 21 agility to offset the loss of the 10 agility from the tear.

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

the way i see is chaotic skyflare>relentless

but the bold from the relentless >the dreadstone cause the bold you get 10 extra str instead of the uselss stam for dps

    Re: 3.2 Epic Gemming

    Relentless wins.

    From Wowwiki:

    Relentless Set Up
    +21 Agility (Relentless Meta)
    +10 Agility (Nightmare Tear)
    +10 Strength (Nightmare Tear)
    +20 Strength (Bold Cardinal Ruby)
    +30 Str
    +31 Agil (0.5% Crit)

    Chaotic Set Up
    +21 Critical Strike (Chaotic Meta)
    +10 Agility (Nightmare Tear
    +10 Strength (Nightmare Tear)
    +10 Strength (Sovereign Dreadstone)
    +20 Str
    +10 Agil (0.16% Crit)
    +21 Crit (0.46% Crit)
    (0.62% Crit)

    Summery
    Relentless: +30 Str, +0.5% Crit
    Chaotic: +20 Str, +0.62% Crit

In all my experience, +10Str > 0.12% Crit.

    Relentless wins.

That's what I thought, thanks for doing the maths.
